  1. The ones pictured are nettles & peppermint. The yellow is from pureed carrot. Thanks;)
  2. That coconut lime does look edible and made me want to run out and buy an "Edwards" key lime pie...man I love those pies:drool: Thanks again everybody!
  3. Thanks! I used to do it that way but then I have issues editing them and I thought I would eventually end up with too many.
  4. Thanks everyone:grin2: I do have fun with the tops. Sometimes it's a last minute thing where I grab a skewer and play! I've been a mad soaper lately and didn't want to put too many pics up. I really enjoy infusing oils for color and they smell heavenly as well. Happy Happy Soaping!
  5. When I first read about emu oils anti inflammatory properties, I had to get some. I had also read how great it works for arthritis and thought I would test it on my every aching joint:sad2: and I hate to be the one to say it, but I may as well have rubbed olive oil on those joints because it didn't do anything for me. I have RA and perhaps the inflammation levels were too high or I should have bathed in it. I don't recommend it for anyone with serious pain unless you're planning to use it as a carrier of some other wonder oil/eo. I've had a unfinished formula in my head forever, maybe one day I will put it on paper:embarasse
  6. All of them soaped like a dream:grin2: . I've got moonlight path and it reminds me of somebodys sex on the beach (which I didn't like) But I will do a tiny batch to see what comes through in cp. Usually oob is the same soaped. I've posted pics in the gallery if anyone cares to take a look.
  7. Those are amazing swirls!:highfive: they remind me of those bubbles we used to blow with a straw, they were always so colorful and quite psychadelic.

BUT I had to share my babies...I am so happy with them. The coconut lime fo is from peaks as is the white lily amber and lilac. I do believe the others are eo only. The carrot honey was supposed to be three layers but the carrot portion thickened faster than the rest and so i just plopped it in the thin layer and stuck a skewer in it and hoped for the best..LOL I like it though:embarasse Also all of the colors are natural except the gray stripe in the OM. I'm experimenting with herbal infusions for color.
  9. This fo absolutely rocks in cp and tarts/candles!. I use 0.7 oz in 2lbs of soap and it is very strong. While making tarts I nearly ran myself out the house:laugh2: I am also loving their white lily & amber, as well as their kick butt strong Lilac. All behave very nicely in CP. I'm sure I'm behind every one else who tried these but ya know I have MPD and one of us Really does like FO's:laugh2: If this belongs somewhere else please move it.:embarasse
  10. I've got an eo/fo blend that contains ylang ylang and man does it move fast! I think ylang ylang may be the culprit because I've soaped this exact blend without ylang ylang and it behaved nicely. I have to soap that blend cold. I mean cold enough to have floating chunks of coconut oil or whatever hard oil. Everything is cold and I add the fragrance very slowly or to the oils. I really like this blend and I refused to give up on it or HP it. I know I will eventually just use it for LS and forget all that:rolleyes2 Have no idea why your fo won't hold up. But I agree it is best to weigh it until you become familiar with your fragrances. After a while you can just look at the cup and know the amount is correct.
  11. I like that soap! That accidental pattern makes it pop. It reminds me of some bone beads that were black with white cuts in them. *soap porn approval* I've wanted to try charcoal just for the color but I'm terrified it will stain something.
  12. I didn't sell any of my first soaps. I gave most of them away after testing them for a few months:grin2: They were surprisingly pretty good for newbie soap. I've recently gone back to a couple of my old formulas because to me they were awesome. I figured I must have had soap angels...you must have soap Gods! Wishing you a lots of wisdom and success.
  13. I made tarts with eo's and ran myself out of the house while burning one. It was super strong, and I my daughter said it smelled like a damp sweaty forrest so I named it sweaty nymphs in the forrest:laugh2: :laugh2: I am not sure of the blend:embarasse off the top of my head I will say patchouli, lavender, ginger and maybe 3 others.
  14. A tester ran out of tarts and put shredded soap in her tart burner and made a soap tart..LOL..whouda thunk it? She says it worked as well as a tart. And I am VERY light handed with fragrances....
  15. http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/amber_resin.html found this for ya. I was about to tell you it could only be done with alcohol but I was thinking about an absolute. I really should keep notes when I respond to stuff:rolleyes2 and that sounds like it's going to be a wonderful soap or lotion and I'll be happy to test it for ya...lol
  16. I make one batch and separate it into smaller bowls. I soap everything RT I use the sb in short burst when adding colorant. It helps to have a slow moving formula and well behaved fo/eo. I also use the sb when I'm ready to thicken the batter. It's usually separated and left sitting in the bowl with no stirring until I'm ready to work with it. Works well for me. Sometimes I get anxious and get wavy lines when I want a straight one..I hate that..lol
  17. I did a search on the board before I chose to use this company so I was aware of having to look closely at every checked box:rolleyes2 and the 10% discount wasn't enough for me to consider. I got my order( last year) with no hidden subscriptions. However, I have decided not to use them because I hate having to triple check everything:mad: I just wanted to shop and get off the freakin site! I am very happy I read those old threads before I made a purchase...sneaky bastages!
  18. I didn't insulate any of my first batches and later on decided to see what would happen if I did. I didn't notice anything different so I didnt continue to do it. I usually will cover it with a paper towel..lol..something about topless soap bothers me:laugh2:
  19. My crock pot has got to be #1. I've stopped counting the gallons of LS I've made with it. Next are my huge and deep ss mixing bowls I found at Big Lots. Then there's the ss condiment cups also from Big Lots:grin2: I love those little cups:grin2: and the ss spoons....just can't soap without these.
  20. Stressful indeed. I've tried several suppliers and was buying from a little bit of everyone:rolleyes2 and that was so very annoying to me. I decided to stick to 2-3 suppliers with RA being the main one. I should be happy they changed a few things:grin2: I'll save money in the end:laugh2:
  21. One of the reasons I didnt want to use fragrances was that I would not have any control over them. When a company decides to change the formula, close the business or just do whatever works for them, it would leave me and my customers in the dust. So I figured if I didnt rely to heavily on their products I would be ok. And no matter what I would still limit the amount of fragrances to, 4 men, 4 women and 1 unisex. I would still do special things just for my family...riight:( Royal Aromatics was my main source and they've changed a few things that doesn't work for me, and I will not be buying from them anymore. I am in the process of phasing out all of my fragrances and when they are gone, THEY ARE GONE! I should have followed my heart on this in the beginning. If I could have my own( signature) fragrance created that might be different. As it is I will continue to blend eo's and that will simply have to be enough. I will hunt for the occasional dupe for family and that's it for me:mad: :tiptoe:
  22. I placed and order with bottlesandtops yesterday and I really hated paying shipping...but then I always complain about shipping, from everybody! I couldn't resist those surplus bottles:embarasse I don't think I will be needing anything from them for a while:grin2:
  23. That is one bar of soap that will last forever!
  24. PKO works very well. I've also used babassu together with PKO. I make coconut free bar & LS. I was forced to face the fact that my skin doesn't like CO very much. I can take it in very low amounts, like 10 %
