  1. I don't like most christmas FO's either. I have a peppermint vanilla that I label differently at christmas and a cinnamon clove for christmas and an eggnoggy scent, those I can handle. I have one piney fo called christmas essence and it is pine and eucalyptus. I hate it but my DH loves it, so go figure. I don't really sell more christmas stuff at christmas. I have some people who like pine all the time.
  2. Sorry to hear that Sharyl, I hope this weekend goes great for you! A lady that is alwasy beside me at a local craft show takes a styrofoam wig form and sticks a cool collar around its neck, that always gets lots of attention and people asking about it etc. even during the winter.
  3. Those look awesome, I guess I'm going to have to try some now since everyone else is getting so good at it!
  4. I totally have a non-candle related shopping problem and a candle-B&B related shopping problem. I went to the sage to order a sample of fo and ended up with containers, 6 lip balm flavors, 4 bottles of fo etc. Not to mention the new containers and soaping oils I just got last week that I haven't even put away yet! Now as soon as I have some free time I can actually make some new stuff!
  5. Any accessories that I buy wholesale like that I add shipping and mark up x2. As for how well they sell, for me that depends alot on the season. I sell alot as gift sets.
  6. We have two super wal-marts, one ghetto and one decent, neither have the damn spice tins. They just "reset" our ghetto wal-mart and now it has inlaid wood floors in the clothing depts. instead of carpet. THAT made it so much more upscale!:rolleyes2
  7. Dashmo, our wal-mart had them last year but now now. I have found them at bed, bath & beyond though.
  8. I got mine at wally world too, I posted pics on the old board but of course can't find them now. I use tarts in each scent in my plastic boxes, but I am thinking of switching to the mini-tins with aroma beads or the ground corn cob, since I have a ton of it left over! What I like best about mine is that it has a pocket on each side and huge zippered compartment on top, I can fit one of each size candle, about 3 or 4 bars of soap, a bottle of lotion, jar of whipped butter or sugar scrub in it too. I like to talk full-size stuff along with me too, so they can handle the actual products too.
  9. I have one similar to that only it is a larger bag, it has 5 plastic cases that fit inside (I have 50+ scents) and has room for a full size samples of candles, lotions etc. I love mine too!
  10. I actually have two different labels for my candles one is my cartoon-y fox logo and one is a black and white pencil drawn fox, the black and white fox is for the more upscale line. For my B&B stuff I use a picture of a baby fox that my brother took in our field. I use the different pictures to differentiate the different product lines. All of my labels have my company name in the same font and all of them have a fox on them, just different foxes for different product lines.
  11. I buy my butters/oils in bulk and for me it is cheaper to make my own lotions.
  12. I had 4 and 6 oz tins for about two years and didn't sell very many either. everyone wanted jars. It may depend a lot on where you live.
  13. I have gotten some of those lids from factory direct crafts. They are still expensive but the prices go down with larger orders, sometime you can catch them on ebay too. www.factorydirectcrafts.com
  14. You may check oriental trading in their chinese new year stuff, you may have to buy a lot though.
  15. I have ordered from acandleco.com the ones I got were the 4" high burners and were too small for a regular sized tart. They worked okay for clamshell sections though. I have since switched to Jackel and Levine.
  16. Linny is right. When I do a co-op I report the entire purchase and then each person's order is a sale. If someone is in-state the hostess fee can be used to cover their tax.
  17. I have used Candlewic's peach from their standard fragrances and was happy with it, customers liked it too.
  18. Thanks Robin, I love the tallow now that I have used it in a few batches! It makes such a nice bar of soap!
  19. Try save on scents for the armani dupe. I have used their oils and have been happy with what I have gotten from them. http://www.saveonscents.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=black+code&osCsid=45d41093ea015874acfe434ef3fdeb18&x=0&y=0
  20. I get mine at Petco (or any pet store). Just go to the animal bedding and get the ground corncob, it is way cheaper there than to order it online.
  21. Contact your credit card company and let them know what happened. They may be able to help you out.
  22. I save all of the peanuts and bubble wrap fromy all of the supplies I order in. I usually have 7 or 8 55 gallon trash bags full. I only get rid of the dirty-looking or smooshed ones and the ones that smell bad. For boxes I have ordered from U-Line, but I found them cheaper at a paper wholesaler here in the area.
  23. Guido was right, the border is better! The new one really pops now, it looks awesome!
  24. I had similar problems with my watchmakers case. I switched to just using tarts in 3 x 4 baggies and putting them in the flat plastic cases that come with fishing tackle boxes. I got a nice soft side tackle box at wal-mart for about $20 that had four plastic boxes and enough room and pockets to hold one of each size of my candles, a few bars of soap and a full size lotion, body butter and sugar scrub. I am much happier with this setup. I love the scent bead idea too although for such a small amount of beads, I have some lying around here somewhere and I never though of them!
  25. Shannon those are awesome! The 2nd and 4th ones especially reminded me of a horse running on the beach!
