  1. I have used Northstar. I was happy with what I ordered, I cannot recall what the specific scents were though, it has been 2-3 years since I have ordered from them. I was happy with the scent throw in my soy candles though.
  2. Yeah it looked like it had taken a bit of a beating, plus it was in shipment for 6 days for priority mail so I think it may have gotten derailed somewhere too. But like I said it was totally salvageable, I will probably pick out the packing peanuts and use what is loose in the box as a "special" blend. I have already bagged most of it up and I would definitely order from Linda again, she has great customer service and the product is awesome!
  3. The polyester labels that I have had in the past were smooth and sort of glossy. I used them for scrubs and shea butter because they held up better to handling/dampness.
  4. I just got my order, it does smell great and the fixins look awesome. The only problem is that 3 of the gallon zipper bags had broken zippers so I have fixins mixed with packing peanuts all over the box. 2 of the busted bags are salvageable, only about 1/2-2/3 empty but the third bag was almost empty. I ordered 8 gallons total, but all different scents, so it is just a mishmash in the box of what I think is Harvest Moon, Homestead and Heartland, the ink on the bags bled from the FO. I did email Linda to let her know that the bags inside had come open. However, you all are right about the quality, I would recommend to anyone, just ask to have the bags taped shut over the zipper!
  5. I ordered from Stone Stew. I am anxiously awaiting!
  6. I am looking for someone/some place that I can purchase ready-made potpourri. I would like to find potpourri with dried orange/lemons peels, rosehips, cinnamon sticks, etc, that looks really nice and I am looking for 4-5 different scents. The lady at our hospital craft show who normally has potpourri is on medical leave and I have been asked to try to find some because it is normally a big seller.
  7. I have always used a wide funnel and had no problems.
  8. You're right, the cut lines do not make the same size bars from that mold. But I loved my Upland. The cut lines aren't very deep in the soap and I just cut them to the size I wanted them. If I were ordering another I would just order the liner without the cut lines.
  9. I use stamps.com and paypal for labels and I always take the receipt half of the label with me and have the po stamp it with their postmark stamp so that I have some proof that I dropped off that package. So far I haven't needed it, but I figure it is better than nothing. There is actually a place on the stamps.com receipt for the postmark to go, which is what made me start doing this.
  10. Those look great. That FO always discolors to dark brown with my recipe, but it is still my and DHs fav and my best seller! I love the color of yours!
  11. I was wondering the same thing Meridith. My hubby brews beer and would love beer soap, but I'm not sure what the benefit would be.
  12. Angela-I had the vinyl labels from Planet Label for my 4 oz. low profile jars for scrubs. After a few months they started curling on the sheets and I have noticed on the few jars I have left that I used them on that they are curling away from the jar on those too. It seems like the vinyl is too thick. I have about 12 or 13 sheets now of labels that I can't use and they are not cheap!
  13. I have gotten some from factory direct crafts. They usually have lots of them up on ebay or you can order from their website/catalog. They have cappers for both small and large mouth jars.
  14. I got mine at Container and Packaging supply. But they are on the West Coast and shipping was outrageous. You might check and see who has the best shipping between the two. Candle Cocoon got them in the past year too. http://www.containerandpackaging.com/cosmetics/itemlist.asp?itemtype=Glass&subtype=Cosmetic http://rochester.hostforweb.net/~candleco/cgi-bin/store/agora.cgi?cart_id=4302831.3861*c27pp0&p_id=00016&xm=on&ppinc=search2
  15. We did chunk votives at a grand opening for a health food store where each person picked their chunks and then did the overpour. You could do those with dixie cups, they have a little less drying time because of less melted wax. We used a water bath too to get them to set up fast.
  16. One of my wholesale customers wants dogwood and I have never used it, so who has the best, or who has your fav?
  17. Here's the link to the page. I got the Javanese Coffee & Vanilla Bean Body Massage kit today. http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/club/default.asp
  18. He had originally tried the chocolate of the month club, which he came up with on his own and of course I really liked it but it was a lot of chocolate and my booty definitely didn't need all of that every month so I suggested that maybe we could find something less fattening. I got an email with a coupon for $5 off the first month from them and showed it to him and told him that would be a good idea, so he didn't come up with it on his own but he did remember, so I guess that counts!
  19. I made a batch today and had a little left over so I put it into one of my Sculpey clay molds and they came out so cute! They are pretty small but I thought they would be neat to add to gift sets.
  20. I like the white marble label too!
  21. My DH got me the Home Spa Club kit for V-Day/Birthday this year. It is put out by From Nature with Love and comes every month. I just got this month's package and it has a recipe for Javanese Coffee, Coconut & Vanilla Bean Massage Butter. I am so excited! The coffee butter smells sooo good! The kits come with the ingredients, instructions a container for packaging and a coupon to get discounts on more of the same ingredients. I think its a great way to try new recipes and learn to make new stuff!
  22. I had great cold throw and good hot throw but I had the fuel smell in plain soy. Sounds like it works good in parrafin though.
