  1. to explain this post....last year SYR was here at my mountain house and must have accessed this forum. I haven't posted from here in that long a time...evidently, she was still logged on from my laptop...hence, the post from her username. I logged off and back on again under my name, so everything's ok now.
  2. I'd like to know where that list originated from.
  3. sounds like you're not heating it enough. oops..hit the wrong button.... I'd be interested to know what brand it is also...I've never had one like you describe.
  4. no, in fact, you house will never smell better with all those lovely soaps hanging around. Since you are doing M&P, you don't have to worry about overheating your animal fats. When you DO decide to advance to CP or HP soaping (and you probably WILL) just remember to just gently heat your fats and you should be ok.
  5. I LOVE those molds! I had mine cut down into smaller pieces...unfortunately, my husband thought they were trash (he's STILL alive) and threw them out. I never ordered another, but seeing your soaps makes me long for them again. They're fine for CP as long as you don't put them in the oven.
  6. more like pancake or cake batter. You could also let it sit in the mold for a bit, then texture the tops with a spatula or whatever.
  7. I saw them at the other forum, but I sure enjoyed looking at them again...they are just GORGEOUS!
  8. I've done it with pipettes and it's a pain in the butt! LOL You can also try just pouring a bit and rolling it around to get it in the design, let it dry and scrape off the excess with an old credit card. Either way, put it in the freezer for a while, give it a spritz of rubbing alcohol and pour your color, but not too hot.
  9. I'm sorry, I overlooked this earlier...some people sell their end pieces as samples like this. Soap stacks on a rope. There is a knot at the bottom of the stack that you undo, remove the bottom soap and re-knot.
  10. I buy nylon cording either in a fabric store or the fabric dept. at Walmart. I buy it by the yard and cut to size.
  11. Mine leaked in the corners...badly...but as I said earlier, maybe they've changed since I bought mine.I originally bought them for M&P logs. I took the BOTTOM piece and wrapped it with plastic wrap, just enough so that it still fit in the grooves but created a barrier, and it worked.
  12. I have 2 of these. Unless they've changed since I bought mine about 3 or 4 years ago, the surface is not as smooth as the Kelsei molds...hence...the soap sometimes sticks, but as Grumpy said, the Pam does the trick and the water discount certainly helps.
  13. It's wonderful! It's a Jo Malone (type) Here's the description: A woody and ambery blend with a hint of citrus followed by notes of red cedar, sandalwood and musk.
  14. Looking at your beautiful soaps is NEVER a disappointment!
  15. from Tony's. When this picture was taken, only the top ones were cleaned up. They smell wonderful!
