  1. Oh, Rebecca, that's a shame. Have you used it before, or would this have been a first?
  2. Or make a really cool 'planet' soap! I'm one of the crazies who doesn't mind rebatching since that's how I first started...rebatching another soaper's CP soap. I don't do it much anymore, but don't mind it when I do. ETA...nice to 'see' you again, Jen!
  3. I also like both, but I LOVE tallow. Lard will give you a bit more conditioning, tallow...hardening. You can use a combo of both with excellent results! Now, if you want to try a really decadent soap...try getting your hands on some Deer Tallow.....yum.
  4. I agree, Rebecca! That WOULD be 100% whether it's canned or reconstituted powder, as long as the proportions are calculated properly. I have seen some people mix a bit of powder or canned with other 'stuff' and call it goatsmilk soap, when in fact, it really isn't.
  5. I don't care for my Upland Slab...I prefer my Kelseis. I ADORE my Upland logs though!
  6. If you use goatmilk as 100% of your liquid...it's Goatmilk Soap. If not, it's just soap with 'added goatmilk'. Don't mislead your customers by making false claims. Just adding a bit of goatmilk to your soap doesn't make it Goatmilk Soap.
  7. I love the ease of use that I have with my Kelsei molds, I have 2 9 bars and an 18 bar. I also have an Upland slab and Upland Logs. Don't use the slab since I got the Kelseis though. They just make a PERFECT bar of soap and are worth every penny.
  8. I second Dragon Lily colors....
  9. your photos and descriptions are OUTSTANDING, Z. That soap must have the creamiest, dreamiest lather ever!
  10. Yup...I think the person you were speaking with didn't know what she was talking about. Rice Bran Oil is much like Olive Oil...it will never get to the state where it would be hard enough to make flakes. Must have been PKO
  11. Emu IS amazing! I just bought another 2 lb. Applied neat to a fresh burn, no blistering, to wounds after stitches are removed...no scarring. Even my DH's doc was surprised that his skin-cancer surgery healed as it did. I keep the bulk in the fridge, but have small bottles in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms.
  12. I just adore looking at your soaps, Brenda!
  13. I love that! I did a Neroli and Jasmine once in orange & purple...
  14. that is just beautiful! Love that color combo!
  15. Hey AJ...that last soap I sent you was 25% cocoa butter...the one in the 'fancy' mold! :rolleyes2
  16. Cotton Blossom (B&BW dupe)....especially for the summer! Very refreshing.
  17. Hi Eugenia...thanks for the offer. I just get very frustrated because it just doesn't seem 'organized' enough for me. There's too much 'going on'...if that makes any sense at all. By the way...where are you in NJ...I'm in Philly.
  18. You'll never forget the gratification of that first batch! Congrats!
  19. I use Soapmaker, but before I bought that, I used the one at Rainbow Meadows. I can't figure out soapcalc for the life of me!
  20. they are too cute! Try using a hand mixer instead of the stick blender, it will give you more play time...or... Let your white cool til it's just about pourable...keep stirring the skin back in... then just pour from different heights to get the 'wave' look.
  21. Perfect for Valentines Day!
  22. That sure is a pretty shade of green! You can always pull a bit out, add a bit of activated charcoal to it and swirl it back in...not much though, it can be drying but it will give you the effect you're looking for!
