    So many variations, I use to wonder why soapers are snobby compared to us simple candle makers. :smiley2: ...... Here is a good question. When doing a M&P, How much % of inerts can be added before you screw it up? Like making it so it doesnt form a solid? My wife is actually been begging me to do soap but I think this is where she should start?... Thanks for your advice. I actually have a mold source no one knows about for those who share.. I actually found it in a weird place by accident and said wowsa, these would be great for soaps...

    I here all the time about MP and CP. I assume MP comes in a liquid and you pour it into molds? How does it harden if it comes in a liquid? The lye is already in it i suppose? And how much better is CP really other then being the old fashioned way to make soap? Maybe CP last longer? What happens to MP if you add some extra stuff to it to make it better? Enough questions for now and finally, i lied, is MP still better then the supermarket stuff?

    I AM SICK OF THE FROSTING ISSUES WITH C-3. Drop it in the 60's and it frosts, of course CARGILL will tell you it happens at 38*........

    Thats a new one to me, hope they didnt send you a tester batch of something they are working on and it sucks.

    LLC or incorporate the business and make sure you have the warning label on everything. That should be enough for now but talk to a lawyer first. When you are larger you may need something more but I am not a laywer, HEY ANGELA? Pssssssssssst:rolleyes2

    Of the hundred or so that i have had, only a caramel went rancid and it was in a clear type bottle. You do not know how long your supplier had it either. It was not premium oil either. I had maples that smelled better then it so i was glad to throw it out....

    I have not noticed this. I had someone use 1 piece and said it scented as well as a .08 and didnt mention any smoke and I know if it did she would of said something, shes a heavy candle user and has been selling candles 20 years. I guess it happens but it dont seem to be a soy issue but a wax amount issue. I actually had ganz tarts spit when heated.

    180 to 190 roughly and I never got sink holes and i have used many,many boxes...... Just some seperation if you 2 wick and one pour, otherwise, no Sinkholes as it is defined. Quick heat gun. Gone. If you have a temp controlled room, you will get no or very little frost.

    Frosted glass is even worse in color frosting. Dont even think about it.

    Putting a 70/30 in cold conditions to see if it would frost?

    It doesnt matter if its pre-done or I do it myself, I cant ship nice candles in the winter only to have them be received frosted due to the weather. That is crazy.

    70 soy 30 Para? I am looking for something that can hold up and not frost when the temperture dips. Thanks in advance.

    Above average but glad you pointed out the room temperture. My wife just was at a store blasting the A/C and it totally frosted all the candles. So that is still a problem that has to be addressed.

    Yes, until Crude oil gets back down under 60 a barrel these prices will remain high.

    The average price for anything Petro will be close to $80.00 by November first. That is what I heard, takes time to hit as suppliers replenish, they ARE NOT ripping you off, it is costing them more.

    I have so much Cranberry spice, my head is spinning so i keep coming up with new ways of getting rid of it.... Applejackpeel, there are a few good ones out there, and the gingerbread type may be good but its not a top seller. Thanks for the info though.

    I dont see enough at candle science to make a order though, I have several suppliers and to add another is crazy unless they have 6 or so that i need and they dont.
