  1. When i sold other candles, Wedding day sold well and we all know half the sales was because it was white and it said WEDDING DAY on the label.
  2. Hate to say this but bubble tops are old hat, flat tops are nicer. As far as Frosted jars, i like them but most waxes do not adhere to them well and you will have issues, maybe not with petro waxes, i cant comment on those cause i use soy.
  3. There is some bad waxes out there, not only soy.. I tested 6 soy and only 2 passed the test and only one i would use, there are maybe 2 i didnt try.
  4. That scent was also nice, the straight Gingseng was a soapy mess. With all these candlemakers, i am suprised more havent smelled what the majors are putting out. I did a scent by shooting also with Bridgewater, half were good and half were bad, they need help.
  5. http://www.illuminations.com/jump.jsp?itemID=20559&itemType=CATEGORY&path=1%2C2%2C14&KickerID=310&KICKER Yes, the sucking sound started about a year ago but is only being noticed now, now they are scared, us little people and others are taking a big bite out of them. Internet makes it easy for everyone to have acess to make a great candles. This wasnt always true.
  6. Thats the same junk floating in that hard liquor people buy. I forget the name cause i do not drink. J/K........ Call the company.
  7. Went to the store and stopped at a Hallmark for the quick candle scan and sniff routine. They had 3 very nice scents that were also strong Cold.. They were, Poinsetta (do they even have a scent?) Oatmeal cookie, and Red currant. Go out and sniff, i would like what you gals/guys think also. They had a toasted hazelnut but it was really just hazelnut. The red Currant was twice as strong as Roots. Not that hard but...
  8. I think that was about 10 years ago and also things changed. Soy came to the market, they handled that horribly. They lessened the FO and went to sugar and spice scents and as well as clean scents which are cheaper to make but not always what people want. Enough for now.
  9. Sockadoo, That has to be one of your best posts you have ever typed. All you said is true, I would foam at the mouth to turn that sucker around.............. It needs to be a private company. You cant be a stock that dictates constant 15% growth every quarter, year after year to keep the stock price up and if not the stock tumbles and they are forced to do the wrong things.... PRIVATE AND ALL NEW MANAGEMENT.
  10. Thats another shell game in the stock market. They get a instant sales increase by the purchase, they writeoff the loses if they have any from it, they have more locations to sell the candles to. They are desperate, basically, this type of company should be private. Then they can do what they want and not kill the brand anymore then they have in the last few years.
  11. they have simply hired a company to analyze the possiblity of selling the company..... Do you know the stock market too socky? I do. They do this hoping for a white night. As far as overpaying for some retail stores etc, i suppose that is one more genious move?
  12. Sounds like a complete jerk to me. Tell them to go buy the $20.oo candles that scent less and see how they like them for a fresh look on things. ..Then call the 1-800- number and demand money back too.
  13. Brown sugar types, love the sweetpea but it should sell better then it does.
  14. The non black label has more class, all you need to do is use bold print for the scent name and you dont need the tacky black bar...
  15. Keep the candles pouring, looks like Yankee cant handle the heat.
  16. They seem to smell like 3% FO. Just a guess but they are lightly fragranced, I use to sell the line... Very little throw if any, a shame.....
  17. Yes and No. The soy wax will be going up. Not near the % of the Petro however. Corn more then soy.
  18. (but to add 40%-50% more to my candles) That is not what i said, i said the wax cost, not the FO, or the glass, or the wicks or the label etc. The real net wholesale cost would go up maybe .40 per 16 ounce jar, give or take. Ceta, thats why I always call it PETRO WAX. I cant spell that dreded word.
  19. Some colors turn quick, within a few monthes. Alot faster then jars and alot more. This is with c-3 though. Will a 30% or 50% parrafin blend fix this problem? Yeah, i know, test... My supplier was out of the parrafin and i ordered so i have to wait a few weeks before i can order again for the pallet shipping. You can PM if you wish. Thanks ..................................... The HEAT IS GONE! (for now)
  20. I have been informed that Parrafin will be at least 40% more then soy wax. How are you all planning on this? Paying $35 to $45 for soy or $60-70 for Parrafin or mixing them or just raising prices? The prices i used is general but close i think.
  21. I have 2 colors but havent used them yet, i still waiting on my old to run out. I know with red, if soy, you need extra, not sure but it wasnt 14 drops, i know 3 drops and its too pink...
  22. There was a big batch that was no good. That tunneled and had very little throw, the company never fessed up but my supplier had them pick the rest of the defective wax. If you were doing a blend with soy for tarts. Whay would you use and is astrolight any good?
