  2. Hi all, I have a potential customer that was asking me if burning soy candles harmed birds? When I did a search, I did find out some info, where birds have died, but they were burning parrafin. Now, I know that birds, especially smaller ones, can be sensitive to fragrances, since their lungs are so tiny. I just thought I would ask here, to see if anyone had any thoughts on the matter. TIA

  4. Not meaning to disagree w/you CM - but I always thought it was a blend of Peppermint & Vanilla....at least that it how I made mine, and it came out great.

  9. Hi, and welcome to the "joy of soy" All I can tell you, is that not everything works for everyone. All soy has it's quirks. You just have to find what works best for you.....time and patience is a virtue.....and testing too. What have you tried already?? And what is it you didn't like about what you tried?
  10. I have used a variety of things to decorate. Some even have scrapbooking stickers on the jars - never had a problem. Mostly I just tie a ribbon around the "neck".
  11. Welcome, If you go over to the "veggie" board, there is a post at the top on FO's for soy. You can also do a "search" on C-3 and see what others have to say. IMO, JS is hit or miss....some are good and some aren't. HTH

  15. Welcome to your newest addiction :highfive:. If you go to CandleScience.com they have a wick guide where you can chose the 135 and size container- it'll give you some wick recommendations. Would be a good starting point as far as wicks w/that wax. HTH Sheri PS- Have fun, and good luck
  16. it just needs to be a "pure" soy w/no additives. any "brand" that is 100% pure soy will do. HTH
  17. I agree w/TOP, and will also add that it depends on whether or not you're holding your mouth right...lol. And TY TOP for the tidbit about the swelling- I did not know that. I wondered what happened to my tins I made last year....now I have to sell them for candlewarmers, but that is not a bad thing 'cause they work great!!
