  1. This is correct mizbizzyb and thanks for that. However, we are currently out of stock of the 70/30 and working on getting more Thanks Brenda
  2. Didn't think you were bashing us LeeAnn I think somehow something got misconstrued (more in how David came across as he tries to talk when he is doing 15 things at once) in the conversation you had with him. Believe me - I've been chewing on him since I started reading this thread You are correct in that we don't know when we would get any as the information we gave you is the manufacturer and if they have no stock in Dallas then there is none to be had unless you go to another one of their other suppliers (which I think he posted). Since they are the manufacturer they control the stock that is available for anyone to purchase. Let me talk to him in the morning and see what is what and we will let you know. As for everyone else, please know that we have not made the decision to discontinue the 70/30. Thanks Brenda
  3. LeeAnn is an excellent customer and we would always take care of them. We are currently out of 70/30 and in discussing batch inconsistency issues with her, we did tell her the only way to get the consistency is to buy a lot of that batch of wax that is performing to the level that she likes. In deciding that she wanted to look at a pallet, we gave her the information to contact the manufacturer since we really can't give hardly any price break on a pallet - once again, trying to take care of her, our customer. (He is not our supplier, he is the manufacturer.) She needs a consistent batch to take her through the holiday season and we felt this was the best way to take care of her. Again, we are currently out of 70/30, as we had just sent the last case to another customer when LeeAnn needed some, but have made no decision to discontinue this wax. Thanks Brenda
  4. I appreciate the heads up on this thread that I got. We have NOT decided to discontinue the 70/30 but we are considering it. I think anyone that knows us will tell you that we would never leave customers hanging. If we decide to discontinue the wax, we will always have a plan in place to take care of any users that were buying it from us. All waxes can have inconsistencies that have to be dealt with from time to time, soy products being more prone to such issues IMO as not every soy crop turns out the same therefore the oil used to make the waxes can vary from batch to batch. The 70/30 is a good product and we have had some very happy users and some not so happy users but that is why there are so many types of container waxes on the market. Some batches of the 70/30 were definitely more troublesome than others, which Brad was always informed by us of such issues and took care of them as well as he could. Many times GL took care of you with no assistance but we figure that is what we are here for. Please, if anyone has any questions on this please contact us and we will be more than willing to assist you. Thanks Brenda
  5. Tootie is pretty much right on with the explanation. There are all sizes of suppliers and all of us buy in different quantities. One supplier may buy 1-2 pallets of wax at a time while another buys all the way up to a truckload. The supplier that buys the larger quantity may have wax for quite a while and be able to hold the lower price whereas the smaller supplier that purchases 1-2 pallets will have to go back more often to purchase and have to charge more based on current costs. Right now, most soy wax manufacturers are announcing price increases at least once a month. Some of the soy wax manufacturers are making smaller batches in the hopes that they can get soy oil at a cheaper price in the futures market in order to try to minimize the increases as much as possible. In just the last week we have been notified of another price increase in the next couple of weeks from two different soy wax manufacturers. Eventually you will see most of the suppliers be within a few dollars of each other as each one goes to purchase more wax. It's ugly, for sure, for everyone. Hope that explains it a little bit for you. HTH Brenda
  6. I would leave them long. It has been our experience that soy wax can expand in the jar when doing shows and going from heat and cold and back to heat. When this happens, the wick can get covered up by the wax when cut to a short length. We still have those soy candles to prove it and left them longer after that. HTH Brenda
  7. Hi Nat, We did receive your order and thank you for it. Not sure why you wouldn't get a confirmation email but I will resend it. I answered your email but I will double check the address to make sure we have the same one on the email and the order so that we can make sure you get the info you need. We do have soy users that use both additives with no problem. You may need to slightly increase the amount of sticky additive when using USA since USA does harden the soy slightly and can cause more pull away or shrinkage. I would start with around 1/2 ounce sticky additive per pound of soy and 1 to 2 tsp of USA per pound. You can always add more or less of one or the other but that seems to be a good starting point. Remember, additives can change the candle enough to require you to change wicking (probably going up in this case) so keep that in mind. HTH Brenda
  8. Thanks Grama, we try hard! How about if I try to give my response here for everyone (Just happened to drop in over here for a little bit). USA - our USA is the same as other suppliers. It is the same additive that soy manufacturers use to provide the smooth tops, etc. with some of the versions of soy. There are times that adding more, even to C-3 (or similar soys), helps with the neverending, dreaded frosting issue. It seems to "toughen up" the soys and calm it to a point. However, as we all know with soy - that can change with the next batch you buy unfortunately. In the past, we also tried beeswax in the soy but found that even though it helped with the frosting problem, it could "bind" some scents and cause it not to throw. We moved away from that fairly quickly. The best solution we found for the frosting issue was using the USA and putting a little less FO in the wax. Even a tenth of an ounce made a difference in a lot of cases - especially with the heavier fall FO's. Hope this helps someone a little and feel free to contact us if we can be of assistance. Brenda GL Candle Supply
  9. ECO's and LX's tend to be the favorite for our wax and we have both of them. Thanks and HTH!
  10. You are most welcome I'm am a late night person and I love getting on the boards when everyone in my house is asleep. No interruptions and it so peaceful. I can enjoy what I am reading Have a good evening/morning
  11. Green Leaf Candle Supply is not the Greenleaf Candle company that manufactures and retails candles. We were a candlemaker before a supplier, hence the Nothing But Candles site. We do not retail candles any longer (haven't for almost 2 years now) and the cart on that site has been out of service for that amount of time. We have a few private label customers that we have had for several years and that is the only candles we wholesale in large quantities to. The site is being redone to allow those few customers to login and place their orders. Hope that clears up any confusion. Thanks
  12. I don't mind trying to make it more obvious and make it easier for them to understand. I think I may be able to put a statement in the email that gets sent to them when they order and then it won't be so confusing I don't think Later,
  13. I'll double check policies but I think it is there as far as cleared payments go - however, most people don't spend much time in that area. We do get a Paypal notice when we receive a "pending" payment and it says that it will notify us when it clears. We have always left it at that since our cart doesn't send the order to us until the payment clears. I'll look through the sections of our cart that we can append and see if we can add a statement. Thanks Sara for the clarifications - can she PM me through this board with her questions? Thanks all for the suggestions, Brenda
  14. Hi Susan, I'm so sorry I missed the emails on that. I am more than happy to answer them for you here. 1. a) Maduro is back in stock and has been for a little while. We even had a sale on 16 oz of it when it first got back in. I will certainly extended the $16.95 for 16 oz price to you since we somehow missed your email. not sure what the questions are on the Potash Votive Holders but let me know and I will do what I can to answer. c) Communication - hmmmm, we don't mind phone calls from customers at all. If email is preferred you can send to the address on the website (which comes directly to me) or you can come to our board and PM me or email me from there. I check our board several times a day to see what questions need to be answered. You can send me a PM through CT but I am not up here as often. I do try and stop in at least once a day. 2. Paypal - not sure on that one. The delay must be through Paypal. I have the email notification from them and would be more than happy to forward it to you so you can see the date we received notice of the cleared funds. The payment is not "ours" until Paypal puts it in our account. We are just left hanging until they notify us. I appreciate the suggestion of the notification. I really never considered that you wouldn't know what the delay was until last night. We will definitely work that into our process - thank you! We appreciate your honesty and want to make all of our customers as happy as possible and will continue to work to improve our communication, responsiveness and bringing in new items that will always make it seem like Christmas Thanks again,
  15. Hi Susan, I wanted to address your concerns about our response to emails and to your order. I have searched our email inbox and have not found any emails from you. If we have missed it then I certainly apologize and am always more than willing to answer questions in emails sent to us. I did find the order that you reference and the explanation of the delay is easy enough. The payment for the order was made through Paypal as an echeck. There is a waiting period by Paypal for that payment to clear before we are even notified by our cart that we have an order. We do receive notification that there is an e-check pending. That notification came in on 1/31 from Paypal. We received the cleared notification from Paypal, and your order from our cart, on 2/5 at 8:46pm. So we would not have had any order in our hands until the morning of 2/6. We did ship within a couple of days after notification as we put it in line with the other orders that were already in. We do apologize for what seems to be a very long delay but we had to wait for payment to clear before getting your order in line for shipping. This is our only option as we do not ship until payment has been received. Please let me know if I can address any concerns or questions and apologize again for any misunderstanding or oversight. Thanks
  16. Batch continuity has been addressed and handled by the wax manufacturer and we have had very consistent batches for months and months now. We will soon be dropping the reference to the batch numbers because of this. The batch numbers assisted me in knowing how to help with issues and reporting them back as we worked through some of the initial issues. Batch #6 came out about a month ago. Feel free to contact me with any questions. HTH
  17. First I have heard of this. Please contact me so we can discuss. Call, email or PM is fine. Thanks!
  18. Everyone is most welcome Glad they got there in solid form I believe that completes all the requests that we got. If you sent a request and didn't receive your sample please let us know. I still have all the emails that we got and I can look it up, along with any tracking information. We appreciate all that tried our product. We will come up with another offer soon - one that limits the number of requests so that we can get them out quickly :smiley2: Thanks again
  19. Hi Crystal, I'm sorry that someone you bought the 70/30 from misrepresented this wax to you. The 70/30 is definitely a container wax and not suitable for dipping animals. We have had some members try it for melts and they were able to stick them in the fridge and get them out of the mold but they did state that once they warmed back up they didn't feel that people would like them because it is so soft. So it is my belief that you could probably take the 70/30 and mix it with some percentage of votive, pillar or beeswax to make it hard enough for tarts/melts. How much is the question at hand as we haven't tried it. So I really think that can work. However, I do not believe that you will easily be able to add anything to the 70/30 to make it hard enough or dry enough to dip animals with it. HTH
  20. WOOHOO - Dallas and a visit to Green Leaf - I'm in HEAVEN If you need it - I have lots of warehouse/table space for all the magical lotions and potions Just let me know! Brenda
  21. I'm hurt . Nothing you did - but Stacy and I got left out Brenda
  22. I definitely had a great time meeting everyone and wanted to again say THANK YOU for letting me join in Saturday night/Sunday morning I love the body butter, hair conditioner and soaps that everyone so kindly gave me. Bunny - thank you so much for the lotion pumps. I'm planning to use them in a swap that I have to do in August. Kimberly - if you need instructions for the pillar wax - please just send me an email. I so look forward to next year and hope we can do it again Thanks!
  23. I won't get dragged into this debate by anyone. We stand by our beliefs as candlemakers. We did our own research into the statements on our candle site to believe them and post them - including finding the EPA report and reading it. If you wish to discuss this then feel free to call me. Candlemaking and Candle Supply Business are two different businesses with 2 different needs. As a supplier, we carry the products that are requested by our customers and support them to the best of our abilities in their candlemaking efforts - not matter which wax it may involve. I believe that I have answered all of our product related questions to the best of my ability that are contained in this thread and will now be dropping out of any responses to this thread. I appreciate your questions and will be looking to see if I can be of assistance with you, or anyone else, who may need it with our products. Thanks (P.S. - Just so everyone knows - we are NOT in any competition with you as a candle maker. We were candlemakers before we became a supplier and we have private label customers. We no longer proactively go after that business - we support the existing customers we had gotten so that we don't leave them hanging. They also help support the growth of our supply business by helping cover expenses in our facility. It's this candlemaking expertise that we bring to help our supply customers.)
  24. Top - that is not what I said - they said it was possible because of the softness. That doesn't mean it is usual. As I stated before, we have not had any complaints about this problem until now and we are shipping wax on a daily basis. I went to the manufacturer and asked them if this could be happening and if they were getting anyone else asking about it. They have not heard anything about this until I called. I'm sorry you are experiencing this issue as this is not normal for us or for the 70/30. We stand behind our products 100% and if you not satisfied then just send me an email and we will take care of you. Just let me know. Thanks
