  1. I agree its is my number one fave and seller..ever
  2. Has your base been fine with other FO? I would say it may be a bad bottle of FO? or a chemical reaction between THAT one FO and that ONE base... I have used WSP cotton candy in MP and never had an issue.
  3. it doesnt "bubble up" its not a foaming bath jelly or like bubble bath, I got suds using it with kids wash cloth or a poofy. Mine didnt break apart or crumble.. it was like "jelly" thick, but soft and sqooshy..smearable..
  4. I agree with you both in part.. its about knowing your clientele. My clientele, rarely read my labels, unless they have an allergy, they buy with thier eyes and noses. I know this is subject to change based on venue, so if I move it could be totally different.
  5. When vegetable oils are left out in air, heat, and light over a long period of time they become rancid because enzymes that react with copper and iron produce highly reactive peroxides and free radicals. If you have no fears or beliefs that free radicals are dangerous, then go ahead.
  6. its tricky but you can do it.. I not only let one skin form but 2, and I dont remove them I just stir them back into the soap. Heavier bases are harder to swirl, I have better results with MP without a lot of additives added. One trick I use is I pour the two colors at once.. slowly from opposite sides of the mold, I dont pour one.. then add another on top for swriling. There is a small tutorial here http://www.halderman.net/soap/
  7. mine too! Dollar tree plastic drawer organisers are my loaf molds along with some dollar tree silicone molds I have found.
  8. Brambleberry The chemistry store peaks somerset cosmetic Glory Bee WSP MMS
  9. I have seen those ingrediants in commercially made lotions and cleansers. There is always a possibility she had an allergic reaction to ANYTHING.. the body can form an allergy at any time, even to things we had no previous allergy to. The only thing concerining me in those ingrediants is the polyacrylamide, if this isnt processed in a competant lab, the derivitive, acrylamide, can still be present and that is a neurotoxin.
  10. I used milk after nursing as someone mentioned.. I aslo used vit E oil/capsules, I could and cannot use lanolin as I am allergic to all sheep/lamb products.
  11. are you pouring melted butter only or do you add things? have you tried filling like 3/4 full, letting that set, then topping off with a thinner layer..
  12. I haven't tried any of the knock offs, only Jellybath, that didnt have any strange floaties or anything that didnt mix properly. I bought it fora soak for myslef..it was pleasant for me.. but so are mud baths.. it really did hold the heat of the bath..
  13. I have used this before for my youngest son..( he wastes liquid shampoo) I myself prefer liquid shampoo, but he likes his shampoo soap. 1lb M&P ( I use natural white) 4.5 grams almond oil 18 grams shea butter 6 grams castor oil 1oz beeswax 1 1/2 oz cocoa butter
  14. silly question.. but HOW do they sell by the inch..and how are they "rolled" are these MP? are they kinda rubbery?
  15. you should, its interesting. I will try anything once..I bought some for my hubbys homecoming from Iraq...he always claimed he would take a bath in jello with me.. I had fun with it:embarasse
  16. ohhh someone is gonna get in trouble. The chick on Ebay that was selling it a few months back, got a cease and desist letter fromthe jellybath people lawyers.. they are seriously enforcing their patent.
  17. The bar my teens use i use clear base no added FO or color, I add colloidal oatmeal, roman chammomile hydrosol and neem. They have also been using the oil cleansing method with great success. Anything they wash with can only help cleanse and soothe and reduce some outbreaks, hormonal based acne is much harder to deal with. Proper cleasning is only part of this issue.
  18. I dunno maybe its your base... I only whip mine about 10 minutes and its good to go..never an hour.
  19. Did you add SAO? Did you whip it a long time? Overwhipping causes mine to fall everytime.. I use Stephensons base.. I add about 2 oz SAO per lb, I have used all types of sugar and used salt. I add suagr to the point of saturation.. then add more..
  20. This is a lot of people I know. Whenever they hear me griping about B&BW lotion and the cheap oils and waxes their stuff is full of... they don't care.. it smells great, looks great, and thats all they care about. You cannot please everyone, you just have to aim for a majority or your own "market" and what they want.
  21. any lavendar.. I can handle real flowers, but not FO. Eucalyptus gets me too. any mens colonge dupe is nasty to me as well.
  22. I was hoping she came back to say what base it was, I am curious. My first base was Michaels and gosh.. that was the worst MP base ..ever
  23. I don't have tons of experience with different types, I use menthol crystals which I dissolve in my oils for my applications.
  24. I have never made one w/o cocoa butter. I always use that along with other butters, I dont know how solid it will be with shea alone..so it might be a tad softer..
