  1. Last time I checked... Peak shipped to Canada but only via UPS. I had a chat with them online not too long ago. Unless they have drastically changed since 2008......shoot.. I hope not!!!
  2. OMG, my heart goes out to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it were my DH... he'd be sleeping outside, in the cold, with the skunks, and porcupines that rome around our place, not on the sofa in the livingroom!!! I was going to suggest the same as others.... send him to the dump... that is until I read where the folder went! Hopefully once you've calmed down, some of those recipes will come back to you!! Many hugs are being sent your way!!!!
  3. And???? How is this looking??? Enquiring minds are dying to know!!!!
  4. Wow E.... two crafts in one!!!! It does look kinda cool though!!! Let us know what happens to it!!
  5. Oh Wow E!!!!! They are just lovely.... and the scent smells divine!! Do tell... where you the FO?? *As she goes off to see if Peaks has it*....:tiptoe:
  6. Oh sh**!!!!! Is that ever nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow!!! Your soaps are just lovely!! Way to go!!!!!:highfive:
  7. They are all gorgeous.. but the Blue Sugar one is realllllllllllllllllllly special!!! WOWOW!!
  8. Ohhhhhhhh that bunny, wolf, dog explanation of soaping is sooooooooooo cute!! I hadn't seen that over there!! Really well explained!!! Good job authors!!!
  9. Oooooooooh, that really is lovely!! I just wish the pic was a bit bigger so we could see the basket better!! Good job!!
  10. My bars are only 2 weeks old, but the scent is still realllllllllllllllly great! I actually showered with a small piece yesterday....Very nice!! Plus the fact that I've finally tweaked a recipe that I really like!!:whoohoo: Thank you all for the compliments on the swirls and colours too!!! I'm going to have to make another batch of that one very soon though....everyone that comes in the house just loves the scent. So I guess a few people will be getting xmas gifts. It should be ready just in time!!
  11. Yes I can see what you mean, by the ammonia smell! I was almost regretting my decision , until I read your post!! Thank you for posting this. At least I know that it should go away!! I had to pop the log in the freezer for a while this afternoon, then I took it out, put it on the counter, but now it's in the frig!! This is almost reminding me of my first batch when I kept peeking at it!! DH said that my soap was getting more attention than he was today!!! I was desperately trying to find a cool spot for it!!!
  12. :embarasse Thank you so much for the very kind words!!! I do have a bit of ash on some of the bars, but I think I will quite easily be able to clean them up. I'm soooooooooooo hoping that the scent stays though, as they still smell just divine!!!! Keep your fingers crossed!! Thanks again everyone!! I really do appreciate the encouragement!!
  13. Thanks for the response!! I think I will try the totally natural... no extra scent or colour!! From what I've gathered I shouldn't let this gel right???
  14. I'm about to attempt my first batch of CP with added honey and oatmeal. My lye and oils were made last night, so I'll be soaping RT. Is there a nice EO or fragrance that I could add to this or am I better to leave it as is.. In my recipe I have Wheat Germ, Shea Butter(refined) and Cocoa butter (unrefined), along with the other traditional oils... Any help with scent will be truly appreciated!! TIA
  15. :embarasse Thank you all so much for the kind compliments!! I'm a very determined cookie to get this swirling down!! I need to check on some other colours though. I'm using the oxides and the ultramarines at the moment, and it's harder to get exactly what I want!
  16. Well, after E's class on swirling... I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of it! I mean they are no where near as nice as some of you do, but dang I'm getting there!! I'm trying as hard as I can!! I do have a bit of ash, but I think I just might leave it this time.... Please excuse the quality of pics my camera is on it's way to camera heaven!!
  17. It's 17.1 to be very precise to get the 33% lye solution. I figured that one out yesterday!!
  18. Bringing this thread back up... This link from the latherings forum: http://latheringsforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=6286&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=liquid+soap&start=0 The author edited her first post, which I assume contained some super info on how to make liquid soap. The instructions are gone!!!!! Would anyone happen to have them?? I've just skimmed through the whole thread and it sounds like it must have been one super easy way of making liquid soap!! And yes I have Failors book, but it's quite confusing! Any help will realllllllllllllly be appreciated!!
  19. Is there no danger for a wooden log mold doing it this way??? I tried the Eternity FO from RA again tonight and had a repeat perfermance of the near ricing.. I've got it in the mold though, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to rebatch... So I'm wondering if I'm too late to stick it in the oven for the night? It's been an hour. This FO really heats up on its own already though.. So I'm wondering if I am better just to rebatch tomorrow.. Any suggestions?? TIA
  20. Now you tell me!!!! lol Oh well no problems... this soapmaker program is reallllllllllllllly super!!! It even gives days to cure for each recipe!!
  21. I've finally decided to splurge for Soapmaker! I had used my free trial up months ago, and was using soapcalc. The thing with soapcalc, it's online (I have dialup so it can be really slow sometimes), and you can only save a couple of recipes, etc. etc. etc. Anyway after thinking about it for 6 months, I've bought the full version, so now I'm just trying to relearn how to use it!! It's adding the inventory in, that is going to give me the problems, but I'll learn... Just wanted to share!!
  22. Oh what a lovely colour!!!!! I wish I could make beautiful mistakes like that!! My mistakes are close disasters!!!! And the scent sounds heavenly too!!
  23. Thanks everyone for your responses!!! That is a super site!!! I had found it last night while doing a search on shelf life! And about the Vitamin E oil... I have some Alpha vitamin E on hand. Would that work, or does it really need the Gamma Vitamin E as a preservative???
  24. And along the line of shelf life..... What would the shelf be??? Or does it depend on the oils used?? I've just made up a recipe which includes safflower and jojoba oils, and a few essential oils, that I picked up in a book. I made up 8 oz of it, and it is for my own use. Any help would be appreciated!!
