  1. Thank you all. I definitely agree about the website being a bit difficult especially needing to add your own shipping to your cart. I have not tried strawberry as of yet Shar. How quick is their shipping once you order?
  2. So it is lacking the crust/pie note? You are fine, I appreciate the response truly . I am glad to know it is a great FO alone either way!
  3. Have not heard much about this company for years regarding oils, mostly just about their tart wax. Thoughts or ones you just have to have? Any twins you can get from them vs other suppliers? Thank you
  4. Any recommendations for a true pancake note? Thank you!
  5. Do they smell similar or does one have more of a pie note than the other?
  6. Following as they are in driving distance for me!
  7. Okay, thank you so much for putting my mind at ease that I'm not that bad at this
  8. I know, I'm just going to try and only use higher percentage FO with blends, but that doesn't explain why 4630 can't hold it.
  9. Well that makes me feel better, thank you! 185-190 And I even heated it a bit higher just to see if my temp gun was off and no go.
  10. I received my waxes from Bulk for testing (6006, 4786, 4794, 4625, 4630). Right off the bat out of the box, I could tell that 6006 is a bit darker than all of the other waxes, almost a yellow tint. When I took it out in the natural light, it is more off white than yellow but definitely a difference from the other white waxes. Me being new, I dont know if this is normal or not. Anyways, I did tons of melts over the past 2 days and was in my groove, doing everything the same way. Then I started having issues with Mrs. Claus Cookies and FB BB jam cookies not mixing. I cannot get them to mix even at 8% with 4786 or 4625 which usually isn't an issue even with heavier oils such as SVS from Candlewic I'm testing. It didn't hold 10% in 4630 either which I know holds more FO. Even at the high temp it kept "beading" (like trying to mix oil and water) and kept settling at the bottom, I could actually see it like syrup not mixing in after stirring forever letting it settle and stirring again. They both mixed into parasoy wax, but something has to be wrong as I know many on here that use it in their straight paraffin waxes just fine. Do you think its the wax? I cant call them up and say send me a replacement if I dont even know how these waxes are supposed to look since most of them are new to me. I can say the 4625 and 4630 which I am familiar with seem to look ok. ETA: testing melts not candles at this time
  11. Thank you so much! I wasn't stirring prior to reading as I always feel pinched for time with adding FO, trying to add at that perfect temperature. I usually keep my pyrex on a warmer so the wax doesn't cool too drastically while adding FO, but I still do this step in a frenzy. Therefore, maybe my infrared was also reflecting / bouncing off the hot plate warmer under the pyrex? Do you think since I used the metal probe for tons of melts yesterday and try the infrared tonight, that I will confuse myself with my final result? For example, I'm still testing like crazy (10 waxes yikes) and if some come out with light HT, I know I will beat myself up thinking it's because the temperature from the probe to the infrared may be the culprit. Please assure me that temperature is important but not so much as to put me in this mind boggling state driving myself crazy?!
  12. I know this is old but am having a hard time deciding on which to stick with. I have a metal probe and an infrared which both are 10-20 degrees difference between the two. The infrared also seems to read different temperatures depending on where I am aiming as if there are hot spots in the wax. I feel like the infrared is bouncing off the presto and glass pyrex vs penetrating the liquid. I also have read on it that it is not best for liquids. I ended up just using my metal probe one last night as I felt maybe as long as I used the same equipment to eliminate as many variables as possible, that it would be more consistent?? I'm still hardcore testing but definitely want to measure temperature the correct way. I hear overheating wax (before additives) can make the wax discolor or even affect it's outcome. Please help! ETA: I would love if the infrared worked the best as my metal probe seems to take ages to read...1 Mississippi 2 Mississippi, grrr.
  13. I just noticed this while ordering more waxes for testing recently, yay!! Thank you so much just in case I wouldnt have seen it.
  14. Again, thank you all. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't some secret specials I was missing out on!
  15. Thank you Gail, I actually meant wax and MY unfortunately does not carry much I am interested in. I will definitely try them for oils and FB as well.
  16. Thank you both so much. I actually have some suppliers with reasonable shipping but unfortunately does not have certain waxes I'm looking for. I am still testing waxes so I am trying not to jump the gun on eliminating suppliers with reasonable shipping yet. I have one supplier who carries all IGI waxes that is 2 hours from me. I am used to driving even farther than that to visit family, so I did plan to pick up in bulk, if I ever have the priveledge to buy that much. I definitely will sign up for their notifications to save where I can.
  17. I apologize if this has already been asked, but I was not able to find it. I understand it varies per location, but in your opinion, which supplier(s) have the best deals / specials ran on shipping?
  18. May I ask how you layered that so lovely?
  19. Thank you for sharing! I remember when I made creamy scrubs with these exact ingredients, switching up the carrier oil here and there. I still make for myself, but stopped selling due to heat during shipment.
  20. I am also still in the testing phases. However, I could not get birthday cake from them to throw for me and my sister reported back that it wasnt great in her home either. Looking back at my notes, their zucchini bread and vanilla b crunch threw decent. Their toasted marshmallow was ok as well, but is missing something to my nose. I may go back and try it again though as it has over 30 great reviews on that one. In all fairness, it may be because they are one of the first I started with for testing, so it may have been my technique and/or wax combos.
  21. I am looking to purchase wax from them since they are only a couple hours away from me, so I may pickup vs shipping. Did you find the wax to be quality and consistent? I have came across posts on here that stated people were having issues with IGI waxes not being the same from Lonestar as other suppliers and the wax wasn't consistent with previous IGI waxes they purchased.
  22. I also wanted to order many samples to try them out. Also, they actually are the cheapest shipping for me when buying in bulk, if I ever get the opportunity to buy cases. I also hear so many good things about their oils. I have heard around though that out of stock is common with them..unless that's gotten better over the years, but this makes me think otherwise :/
