  1. Wthomas57, Lemme see if I can find a picture somewhere.
  2. Hello everyone, I want to add another degree of safety among my candles involving glass containers. I have seen these bars on the inside near the bottom of candle containers but do not know what they are called. I believe that they are used to prevent the wick from burning any lower than say a quarter inch. Does anyone know what these are called and where to find them? Can you also use them with any wick?
  3. I use Clarus 3022 and a tiny bit of filmy hangup does not bother me. I use zinc and cdn wicks in my 8oz masons with this wax. You may want to try those out Lavender if you have not already. I usually use 8% fo with this wax. HTH
  4. Monster, I think Glory was talking about Sugar Cookie Royale from the Flaming Candle Company. I ordered it and put it in 6006 and also Clarus 3022. I am testing in both right now. Started off with an amazing hot throw the first 2 burns with Clarus but now it's almost non existent. Thinking I didn't let it cure long enough lol. In the 6006 wax there is almost no cold smell but not that strong either. May just have to let cure longer than 5 days. The scent smells awesome though.
  5. Candybee, Thanks for the post! Yes I do have cd and cdn wicks. I think that I have almost every wick imaginable except size hahaha. Think I will probably need cd 6 and 8's. I have 10,12, and so on. I may order some more cd wicks.
  6. I use Aztec a lot so I will have to try the cookie. I just ordered sugar cookie from Aztec but I will definitely order rsc. With my melts I use a parrafin and pillar blend. I am experimenting with parasoy and pillar at the moment trying different ratios. Thanks Glory
  7. Debratant, Thanks and hope everything is well? Yes I was thinking the same thing. They are really potent as melts but just will not cooperate in a candle. Not sure if I even want to waste my time with it at this point lol. There are millions of scents to try. I did manage however to get candle sciences leather to work in a candle but RE leather, no way. I am experimenting with 6006 wax at the moment but using a couple others and zincs seem to work well in almost everything 8oz and under at least. I am still testing larger containers but using mostly parasoy blends. Looking for bakery scents that do well in parasoy at the moment. I am trying to prepare for the holiday season.
  8. Zinc wicks work the best for me in the 8oz square masons using 4627. I do not like htp wicks with this wax because they soot like crazy imho.
  9. Hey everyone, Have a question! I have bought leather scent from Rustic and Candle Science. These are two totally different scents. I have attempted to make them work in a candle using 4627 with zinc wicks. My zincs work well on every scent that I have tried until now. Both distributers leather scents have failed wicking up and down. They start off great and by the 2nd or 3rd burn the wick all but dies out. I have changed percentages from 8 to 6 percent but same results. I only use 2 drops of brown dye per 8oz mason jar. Anyone else have this issue or know of something else to do? I was thinking of adding a different brand of wick like an lx.
  10. Candybee I love that feeling when I finally get a candle to burn completely clean. My customers have been super excited by how my 8oz masons do not soot on the jars. I use zincs even though they mushroom. The shrooms do not bother them or myself. I am having trouble though trying to wick a leather scented candle. I can usually get away with wicking zincs in my 8oz masons but this leather just will not burn right at all. The wick becomes soooooooo weak that I could walk by it too fast and it will probably die out. The scent is from RE and it's amazing! Even though I have mixed percentages I still cannot get this off the test line. Bummed!!!
  11. I ordered a sample of 6006 from Peak yesterday so it should arrive Monday or Tuesday. I will dabble with it a bit. I added up the extra cost and it's about a 5 dollar difference with shipping. I will also use zincs as these are my favorites anyhow lol. Awesome! Thanks Ray
  12. Glory, Thank you for your input. I just ordered more 3022 from CC and a sample of 6006 from Peak. I absolutely love zinc wicks and use them in both paraffin and parasoy. I do agree with you Glory in regards to those. I have almost every wick you can think of at this point but I always go back to zincs. I have 464 laying around also but I do not like the frosting. I can't wait to try the 6006 and compare to my 3022. I know that they are 2 different waxes but I hear they are similar in some ways. I'm finding that parasoy blends are popular among many people with their containers. I love 4627 in smaller containers. The scent throw is amazing but it is not exactly the prettiest wax lol. I will continue to use it unless I find a competitor. Thanks Glory
  13. I also did my research with Connie's candles and it is a bit pricey with shipping. I would order 33lbs most likely but it will cost 88 dollars to be shipped to me. Peak is now 2 and half hours from me and sells 6006. I can get that a bit cheaper than 3022. I will save on shipping but 3022 is a nice wax and I am uncertain about 6006. Think I will order a sample from Peak to see how it measures up with the Clarus. I understand both waxes have different ratios. I have both zincs and cdn wicks. These wicks seem to work well for different containers. I find the cdn wicks like dancing a lot, where as the zincs do not in Clarus. Guess I have some decisions to make. Lol
  14. I have not attempted the 4627 with 464 yet but I have been thinking of doing so. I know that 464 for best results should cure for 2 weeks. That may be one reason why people are not getting a good throw from the combination. I have both waxes sitting around so maybe I will try. Igi4627 does have amazing scent both hot and cold. I use that wax strictly for my smaller containers. I am currently looking for a wax that burns well in my larger containers. Well hth
  15. Hey everyone, I wanted to start a discussion and hear everyone's ideas about different waxes that they have had success with in larger containers. I currently use igi4627 in my smaller containers like 8oz jellies, 7oz tumblers, and 8oz masons. I do find though that if I get higher in size this wax it becomes very hard to wick properly. I am left to inquire about other waxes. Is this a common issue with everyone and their choice of waxes? When I pour in my 12oz Libbeys or bigger tumblers, I have been using a parasoy blend. I have to sacrifice amazing scent throw for decent throw. Everyone feel free to chime in. Thanks
  16. Ray, Thank you sir! I spoke with Craig before and will be calling him back.
  17. Jcandleattic, I just actually received a phone call from one of the businesses I just talked about hahahaha. She asked if I wanted to wholesale. Do you know anything about wholesale? Advantages or disadvantages? I know Glory wholesales so I may have to ask her.
  18. Jcandleattic, That does suck big time! I will just have to go on a little adventure when I get some more sales in and visit Peak. Shipping is truly horrible and it would be a really hard sell to my customers if I had to up my prices even more. Most of the customers out my way are not going to drop much more money on my candles when they pay that for Yankme. There are stores however in a more upscale area around here that have their 10oz soy candles selling for $30.00. I was walking through scratching my head and thinking, mine look much better. I guess selling in a town surrounded by water you could get away with that. Lots of wealthy people in that town. I am currently trying to get through the front door with some of the owners as we speak. Three are interested at the moment but we have not come to the table yet. We will see
  19. Candybee, You do have a point towards being lucky. What business is BW? I ordered from Peaks yesterday and it's being delivered today. Now that is what I call fast delivery!!! Paying the shipping costs on it however......lol. I am happy that they are in PA now so I can make that trip. So does Fillmore have good scents?
  20. Hey everyone I was wondering if anyone may possibly know of any suppliers in the state of Maryland? I know that Peak is about 3 hours from where I stay but didn't know if maybe there are some closer. Shipping can be a serious pain in the butt lol. If not then I will have to take a drive to Peak or Fillmore every month. I am just really trying to avoid shipping costs as much as possible. Thanks everyone everyone! ?
