  1. Oh man!!!!!! I really wish I could've gone with you all. It sounds like you had a great time and I would love to meet you face to face. It sounds like you had a great time and received some awesome gifts. I can't wait to hear about the fragrance throws!!!!!
  2. I have never tried this supplier. How do their fragrances rate vs other more well known suppliers? I'm getting ready to order some scents and am willing to try something new.
  3. I do use 6006 and I burn various times. My first burn is usually the standard 1 hour for each inch of diameter, then I blow it out and wait until the next day. If it's a time where I will be home most of the day, I light a candle and leave it burning for a power burn (I feel that's what most customers would do).
  4. For those of you going to the Aztec Conference this year, have a GREAT time and learn LOTS!!!! I can't wait to hear about what you've learned
  5. Wow!!!! I started this thread and forgot about it! I should've been paying better attention! LOL! What a great discussion. I love fall and the holidays! I can't wait to get started! You all have given me some great ideas!
  6. From just looking at the pictures, it looks like you probably should wick up. I usually have some hang up on the sides, but it usually catches up within the second or third burn. If I'm reading your posts correctly, these pictures are after a total of 27 hours of burn time? If that's the case, I would suggest you test a couple of larger wicks (two separate candles) side by side. I have tested Eco 4, 6, and 8 (depending on the fragrance) in those jars and have had really good luck. When I test, I also wait at least 12 hours between testings. Also, you could remelt the remaining wax into another jar and retest your wick by increasing your wait time between burns. You never know, it may fix your problem.
  7. I thought the tubes were awesome looking. I've never burned the tubes, but I am going to try them. I'm going to try and place an order tomorrow for a sample pack of lids and wicks. And if I've read the site correctly, tube wicks are included as well.
  8. Thank you all for your kind words! I'm just a perfectionist and I'm always wondering if things are "good enough." That's the fourth go around for that label and it looks nothing like it did when I started! LOL! I am my own worst critic; however, I am VERY glad you all like it Thank you Puma52! I am extremely proud of my nephew and he holds a special place in my heart (and he knows it! Bahaha).
  9. Pcbrook - I just checked out your website and I love the look of the wood lids. Is your logo burnt on the lid or imprinted on them?
  10. I'm sorry. My last post made no sense at all. From what I understand, your information is imprinted or burnt onto the lid. I'm not sure if there is an initial setup fee or not. I'm going to call here in a bit and get a more precise answer from them.
  11. From what I understand, the information is imprinted or burnt onto the lid. You provide them with the logo, etc and they will customize it for you - I'm not sure if there is an initial setup fee. @pcbrook - did you not like their wicks or just woodwicks in general? I'm also glad to hear you are using their lids.
  12. I love their lids. I'm thinking about ordering a sample pack of the lids and wicks. So far I've had decent luck with the wood wicks and this site does offer support. I thought that was a plus for them (not to mention - wood wicks is their business).
  13. Below is a label that I created for my nephew using PicMonkey. I believe it was Puma52 who originally posted a thread about this photo editing software. My nephew is a USMC dog handler and specifically requested a candle with specific colors, specific wick, using this specific picture of him and his dog - and in my family - a Marine gets what a Marine wants Any suggestions on how to enhance it? It was originally done on a clear label, which would look great on a white candle, but no so good on a colored candle :/ FYI - the flame appears larger than it actually was......
  14. I have started wood wicking some of my candles. Of course I am still in the testing stage and have tried wood wicks from various sources. So far, NG have done the best for me. However, I am curious about another company I ran across yesterday. Has anyone purchased wood wicks from WoodCandleWick.com? http://www.woodcandlewick.com
  15. TallTayl, I love the smell of Dragon's Blood and your label is definately inviting the customer to take a sniff! I would buy that candle!
  16. I'm going to have to breakdown and buy some of this stuff! Puma52, your enthusiasm sold me! 8 oz square Mason Jars!!!!! Let the testing begin!!!!!!! Good grief! My husband's gonna flip when the UPS guy gets here! Bahahaha!!!! Thanks everyone for your input. This site has truly been a blessing to me. The information you all so freely give is absolutely priceless and much appreciated - So many mistakes have been avoided using it :-)
  17. I am looking for a really good scent for fall. Anyone have any suggestions?
  18. You should also be able to get it at your local health food store. I'm not saying this is safe, but I do know some people who actually drink it.
  19. Thank you Jcandleattic. I started out with 464 and had a terrible time getting HT with it (even after several weeks of cure time). I finally moved in to 6006 and love it. However, I am getting curious about straight paraffin. I have my very FIRST craft fair in late September (which is stressing me out a little! lol). Depending on how it goes, I may try a couple more before Christmas. Once things settle down, I am definately going to play around with it :-)
  20. Thank you so much! This helps me a great deal! I was thinking along those same lines. I think once I get the space set up at home the way I want it, I will take several pictures so I can be certain to recreate it! LOL!!!
  21. What kind of paraffin wax do you all prefer for container candles? Is there one that has a "better" HT? There are so many varieties and I am curious for future reference.
  22. Thank you Candybee! I appreciate your words of wisdom. Like I said, I am VERY green on this topic. And, for me, it is an uncomfortable place to be. I am definately outside my comfort zone here. I know you don't know the specific situation regarding the event and I know this will only be a rough estimate, but about how many candles should I plan on bringing with me? It is by no means War Eagle in Arkansas, but it is an entire city park and community event (farming community). People travel from all over the state and then some just to attend this event. Since it is an outdoor event, and I will be about 45 minutes from home, I am planning on staying in my tent over night. I won't have a chance to go home in between days ( Saturday and Sunday) and I am worried about supply amounts. I guess it's that I know I am inexperienced, but I do NOT want to appear to be that way. My teacher personality will not allow it! lol! I know it will be a great experience, but right now I'm a little stressed about it. Thanks again for your comments. I do feel better (and excited) about it :-)
  23. Even though there is an older thread on this topic, it has a TON of valuable information. However, I am still needing some help. I have never done a craft fair before and I have been asked to participate in one this fall. This particular event is an annual 2-day craft fair (and a rather large outdoor one) which has great monetary potential. Last year - out of nearly 400 booths - there were only two booths that sold candles. And they were not the main focus of the booths (they were part of a bath and body booth). My head is spinning right now. I have looked on Pinterest regarding booth/tent setup and I "think" I have a good handle on that part at least. My problem is product quantity. Would someone please be willing to guide me in the right direction? How many different scents should I try to focus on? I plan on bringing 8oz and 12oz containers along with some clamshells. There is one signature scent that I will carry in a 31oz Libbey Cylinder (military related). I just want to make sure I have plenty of supply without overkill. I feel like I'm trying to hit a hidden target. I can't remember the last time I felt so green on something.
