  1. Awwww Michi that just stinks. We would love to see the soaps however:cool2:
  2. Ummmmmmm they look fine to me. Nice Job.
  3. I get ash sometimes also, for some reason it seems to happen more when I use eo's. You can also spray it with alcohol and kind of wipe it off. Ash is like wet spots, it happens.
  4. Made my first soap in a shoe box.
  5. Yay, you did it. Love the container and it looks fabulous. Are you addicted? Did you try it yet. Another one bites the dust. Just so proud of you. Great Job make more make more LOL:)
  6. I don't do 1 /2 pint jelly jars but I charge 9.00 doz for votives wholesale and tarts I charge .50 cents each mine are an ounce.
  7. Julie Julie Julie, you got it going on girlie, love them.
  8. I use Astorlite V I love it. I don't blend it with anything. I think you may get responses from people that do use a blend. I have never tried a blend , one because I like the V and two getting them out of the mold may be more difficult, but I know it can be done. Try it. Let us know how it works out for you.
  9. Welcome to the board glad to have you hers;) Cindy
  10. Guys remember that lavender soap that our Ms Sara made, well I don't want to make anyone jealous but I received a bar of it in the mail today as a little gift and let me tell you it is sooooooooo beautiful. I am a lavender lover so I shall cherish this bar as if it were gold. It is so much more beautiful in real life and smells soooooooooooo delicious. Thank you thank you thank you Sara. I just love it. Cindy:) :)
  11. I haven't raised my prices at all, I have been able to buy at the same prices or less by hunting around, changed wax which kinda wasn't fun but I always have a little buffer in my prices anyway.
  12. I would make it more conditioning myself, maybe with olive, emu. I would probably take out the coconut and use only the palm kernel. OMO
  13. Robin I started with recipes on the Miller Site, I will look back at my notes and post a few.
  14. Peaks has nice liquid dyes. I use liquids and blocks, I find the trick with blocks and chips is to get them in the presto or whatever you are heating in, get the temp to 200 and hold it there for about 10 mins and all should desolve fine, if you watch when you are pouring if there are any shreds left they sink to the bottom, just don't pour those into the candle, I pour it into a heavy duty dixie cup and use it next time I make the color and fo. Hope that helps Cindy
  15. Mysti for container candles I would probably say that 4786 is a great one, I can't get it locally anymore so I have switched to 4360 which I also like. The IGI 6006 is one you may like to try a slab of and if you want to try the Astorlite waxes get a lab of J50. Your container waxes need to have a lower melt point then the pillar or votive waxes. I like the 6006 and the 4360 because you can cut it with a knife and no second pour, but the 4786 is a great wax even though you have to do a second pour. If you are up for testing 4 waxes these are the ones I would go with. Hope that helps. Cindy
  16. If it works I don't see why you can't use that wick. The trick is to try it with different fo's. You could also try a 60z.
  17. That looks like a good burn to me. The 60's are in the mail don't think you need them. LOL
  18. Those are freaking awesome great job. Very Unique
  19. Kimba those look great, I did shower gel with green clover and aloe today and made a bottle for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Nice Job.
  20. A most beautiful first, doesn't look like a first , you did a great job, you are a professional already, I am really impressed. Keep up the good work.
  21. Well it might work but it has to be diluted some how, I would dilute it , strain it, stick blend it with the oils, work with cool temps, and then add the oats later, just to be on the safe side. You want to add the oats at thick trace so they don't all sink to the bottom after you pour, if for some reason the batch traces quickly you won't have to worry about adding 2 things, one at light trace and one at thick trace. Hope this Helps
  22. Dilute it with some water and either stick blend it with your oils or add it at trace. Just make sure for every oz of gm you add you also have 8 ozs of water in the recipe.
