  1. I have a very special request. My oldest son, Paul, is in the Navy in Norfolk, Virginia. He has been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and is on a waiting list for a new liver. In the meantime, he is in and out of the hospital with jaundice and having his blood purified which is very painful and exhausting. When I first started making candles, I used a lot of the plastic two-piece molds from Pourette. One was a 9 1/2" tall cross mold. When I moved back to Arizona from Kansas, I sold all of my plastic molds. Does anyone have this mold, and if they do, could they please make me a white cross for my son. And send it to me and I will send it on to him. Time is of the essence. The cost doesn't matter. His wish does.
  2. A customer of mine wants me to make tart melts using palm wax and EO. Does anyone do this, and if so, how much EO do you put in one pound of wax. Either teaspoons or drops.
  3. I am trying to find an easier way to store and display tealights and votives at craft fairs. Are the small 3-drawer plastic units you can buy at the dollar store and Walmart okay to use?
  4. I have a question about using tealights in ceramic tart burners. Can a glass tealight holder be used or will it get too hot and break. Also, if glass is not good to use, can a tealight in a metal cup be okay to use without being in another container.
  5. I have two customers that want a candle in Peony. Does anyone know a company that has a truy Peony fragrance oil?
  6. I have a 4 oz jelly jar with a black lid that looks like a lid for a baby food jar. It is 1 3/4" diameter and 2 5/8" tall. I use zinc wicks and 4630 wax. Any suggestions on what size zinc wick to use?
  7. I never thought of the glass pots. They might be more available at a thrift store than the coffee pot. And cheaper than buying a coffee pot off of ebay. Thanks for the information.
  8. Sorry, I finally figured out what you were saying. I'm off to the thrift store tomorrow.
  9. That would work. What do you mean by "cover the bottom of the pot"?
  10. Thanks for the information. If I can't find a low enough temperature electric pot, I'll use your method. It beats the water method.
  11. I came across small boxes of colored gel wax. I am going to use them for 8 oz jars. All I have to do is add the scent. Using the Presto Pot for such a small amount would be a waste. How long does it take to melt the gel wax in the oven? And does it get hot enough to be fully melted. I tried putting a Pyrex cup in water and heating the water, but it never fully melted and it takes too long.
  12. I need to find a small melting pot for small amounts of gel wax. I researched the Fry Baby. It is 900 watts but doesn't give the temperature it gets to. I was wondering if the Presto Little Dipper would work okay. The info on it says it gets to 195 degrees. Any suggestions?
  13. Does anyone know where I can buy tealight tubes that hold 12 tealights and for a reasonable price?
  14. I am almost out of Carrot Cake fragrance oil from Berts Heaven Scent supplier. I went on their website and they no longer sell it. Does anyone know of a supplier that has this scent that smells as good as Heaven Scent. It's smells just like carrot cake.
  15. I have one I just got in from Mr Missy's Candles. It is heavenly. I've already sold some candles with this scent.
  16. Does anyone know what scents to blend together to get Amaretto Scent. The little I have left is from Wellington. Also, does anyone have about 2-4 oz they can spare. I can Paypal immediately.
  17. Thanks for the info.Guess I'll cross this company off my list.
  18. So, you have bought oils from this man. Not good for candles, huh?
  19. Has anyone bought fragrance oils from "Geeoils" on Ebay. He is selling them really cheap. A good deal if they are good for candles.
  20. Does anyone know where I can buy silicone molds for a 3" ball candle?
  21. Does anyone know where I can buy a good "Desert Sage" fragrance for making candles in Arizona?
  22. I had the same problem, Coco. I received my wax yesterday and set up two molds without a wick, scent, or dye. I poured one straight, and I put stearic acid in the other one. And just like you, this morning, the one with stearic would not come out of the mold. The one with stearic came right out and had air pockets toward the top of the pour. So, I am definitely going to do relief holes in this wax. I wish I still had the wax I used from Glory Bee. It came right out of the mold without using stearic. But they no longer sell it. I'm glad I did my two sample candles before I actually poured a candle for a customer.
  23. I am wanting to make up smellies for my pillars, so customers can smell a scent without opening the bag the candle is in. I saw 1 oz. plastic polypropylene jars on a website for a very reasonable price. If I put a cotton ball saturated with a candle scent in this type of bottle, will the scent stay.
  24. I answered my own question. I looked at an unopened box and it says "PP". So they are polypropylene bags. Solved my problem.
