  1. Since I didn't use the top part, it's not as big. But the whole thing to the top of the icing is 6 1/2" diameter and 6 inches tall.
  2. I found this mold at a Dollar General for $8.00. A lot cheaper than the others being sold. I haven't had time to work with the bottom and the top to find a way to glue the two pieces together and then frost. So, I frosted the bottom part just like I do my regular size cupcakes. I make a lot of different bakery candles, but this one looks good enough to eat. It's for my sister's birthday.
  3. I finally broke down and bought the giant silicone cupcake mold. I want to use it to make giant cupcake candles. There is a bottom mold and a top mold shaped like icing. Is there a way to put the two parts together and then just put frosting on the top part.
  4. I met a lady today who is a candle lover and will be buyng her candles from me instead of the store. She showed me a jar candle she bought at Target. On the label it says "Poison Ivy". Is there such a scent and if so, where can I buy it. She loves this scent and is hoping I can find it for her.
  5. Does anyone use IGI 4794 wax? Do you know if you can use it to make floater candles and tealights. I know people use it for votives and tarts. Just trying to get a wax that's does more.
  6. That's what I was thinking. I got in a hurry and poured it too hot Will try pouring cooler. I'd still like to know if you can put stearic in the gel if anyone has tried this.
  7. Does anyone know if you can put stearic in gel wax to make it harder and not running when you put it on a strawberry shortcake?
  8. Can you put stearic in gel wax to make it harder. I made a strawberry shortcake and the gel ran down the side of the cake. I'm not using a plate, just the cake.
  9. I have bought quite a few of their scents, and they are very strong. I get a very good CT and HT in my candles.
  10. Add a little black to the red. That will darken it up.
  11. When Mr Missys was open, did anyone order Vanilla Bean. The store I have my candles in loves this scent. Does anyone know if another company has a Vanilla Bean that smells as good as the one from Mr. Missys.
  12. I've been using 4630 for 5 years now. I use the 8 oz jelly jars. I use 51-32-18 zinc wick and haven't had any problem or customer complaints. I get a very good cold and hot throw and the only thing left when the candle completely burns is the wick tab.
  13. If you have a Dollar General in the area, they have them during canning season. When I lived in Kansas three years ago and did a lot of canning, I got my jars from them. Also, at the end of the summer, they usually have them on sale to get rid of them. So, you could buy everything they have.
  14. I use individual silicone bundt pans I found at a craft store. The candles slip right out. And I let the wax set up to where a nail will stay upright. And then I put a long nail in so I have a hole for the wick after the candle comes out of the mold.
  15. I forgot to mention that after I put the wick in the mold, I put either a black rubber or pink silicone plug in the hole before I use the hot glue.
  16. I use a glue gun to cover all of the wick sticking out. Then this is the trick I found. I use the lids from the 28 oz peanut butter jar. I fill the lids with Plumbers Putty and push it down and smooth it out. I fill the lids not quite to the top. Then I put the mold in the lid, turn it to set it in the putty and then level the mold so it is straight when i pour the wax in. I keep the filled lids in ziplock storage bags so I have then handy when I need them. I've never had a leak. .
  17. My youngest son is getting married in October. I want to make him a wedding cake candle for him and his fiance for a keepsake. Does anyone know where I can a 3-tiered silicone mold with decorations on it that can be painted. I am looking for a fairly large mold. The only ones I have seen are about the size of a votive.
  18. I discovered Dark Chocolate Mint from Bert's Heaven Scent. I'm am selling it so fast, I have to order 4-6 bottles at a time.
  19. I get mine from wherever they are on sale. I have gotten a lot of them from the "Classifieds" on this forum. No matter where I buy them, they all burn the same.
  20. I use igi 4630 wax, which is similar to igi 4633 wax. And I use 51-32-18 zinc wicks. I get a perfect melt pool and a fantastic hot scent throw.
  21. I mash or "wreck" the whole top of the candle as it sets up. That way, any air pockets are taken care of. Just putting holes in the wax won't do it. The wax hardens too fast to fill the holes up. Opening the whole top of the candle releases any air and as the candle cools, the area to open up gets smaller. On the final pour, I fill the void but not to the edge so the wax doesn't go between the candle and the mold. I don't have any problem with voids in the taller candles as long as I keep opening the wax as it cools.
  22. Does anyone have 1/2 oz or so that I can have to test and show the store.
