  1. Definitely Nature's Garden. Just Scent fragrances are very mild. Not as strong as I like for candles. Nature's Garden fragrances are very strong and well priced. Good customer service.
  2. Does anyone know where I can buy red chile peppers, about 3" long, or even more. I want to make some windchimes. But I can't find anything but small ones on the internet.
  3. I use that scent in the 8oz jj with 4630 wax. I use a 51-32-18 zinc wick and get a very good melt pool and a strong ht.
  4. Check Amazon.com. It looks like they have them and shipping is free on orders $25.00 or more.
  5. So far, the people who have bought the giant cupcake said they aren't burning them. Just for looks and a novelty. I have burned my regular size cupcake and the sprinkles just melted with the frosting. Once I get past the rush of the holidays, I'll try the suggestions you all gave me to adhere the top and bottle of this two-piece silicone mold. If I get one to work, I'll post a picture.
  6. Since these pinecones don't have a wick, I just melted the wax and dipped the pinecones. Didn't check the temperature. For subsequent dips, I just let the wax get to a slushy consistency. If I were to say what the temperature was, I'd say 180 for the first dip and probably around 130 for the other dips.
  7. I googled GG and I guess it is Glass Glow, which I assume is for containers. Mine is not. It is for pillar candles.
  8. I'm pricing them from $1.00 to $1.50 depending on the size. I have small ones I got yesterday from a neighbor. I'll probably price them 50 cents to 75 cents.
  9. What is GG palm wax? I used feather palm wax. I dipped them once in the hot wax to get a starting layer. Then I let the wax cool to almost slushy to do the other dips. That is how I got the thick layer. I'm going to try paraffin today. I'm just wondering if the color they are dipped in is going to make a difference if I'm going to put glitter on them?
  10. I dipped them in heavy scented cinnamon. I used feather palm wax. You can't see it in the pictures, but they have a sparkly look. I have a question for anyone who dips pinecones. If I'm going to sprinkle them with glitter, does it matter what color wax I use. I have some colored scrap wax in blocks that I need to use up. This would be perfect if the pinecone is going to be covered in glitter anyway.
  11. Thanks. If I had known how easy they were to dip in wax, I would have done them years ago. I just got 4 bags from a neighbor in trade for dipping some for her and dipping some for an upcoming craft fair. I'm going to do the new ones in paraffin wax and sprinkle them with glitter.
  12. I finished the few I had. Have to get more. They came out thick and sparkly. Here are pictures.
  13. I bought a bag of popsicle sticks from the dollar store. My husband drilled a hole in the middle of each one. After I put the wick through the hole, I bend it over on the popsickle sick and secure it with a small binder clip. When I pour the candle, I can move the wick over so I don't spill wax out of the jar. Then I move the wick back to where it is centered. I also use a glue gun to glue the tabbed wick to the bottle of the jar, centered of course.
  14. I'm going to try the palm today. Will let you know how they turn out.
  15. Is it okay to use palm wax to dip pinecones or is it better to use paraffin wax?
  16. Sorry, I looked that the wrong person. EricofAz, where are you located in Arizona. I live here also.
  17. I pour that size jar with 4630 wax also. I use a 60-44-18 zinc wick and it works very well. I see you are also in Arizona. I'm in North Phoenix by Cave Creek Rd and the 101. Where are you?
  18. I have one customer who wanted me to mix coconut and lemongrass. Now ahe orders it on a regular basis.
  19. Does anyone use this for jars without a lid? And can it be used without "sucking" the scent out of the candle?
  20. I use glitter paint you can buy at all the hobby stores. It comes in different colors.
  21. I don't use your wax. I use IGI 4630 for my jar candles. I put the lids on as soon as they have set up. I think it helps keep the scent in. And I also let them cure a minimum of 1 week because I deliver or sell them. The longer they cure, the stronger they get.
  22. I took the one I made for my sister with me to the gym before going on to the store I have candles in. I left it behind the desk while I was exercising. The girls there fell in love with it. One girl bought the one for my sister. So I have to pour another one for her. And three other girls ordered one each. So I have a busy week getting them all poured. I never thought this size cupcake would take off the way it has. Especially when I told them how much they are. Guess I'm going to be going back to Dollar General and buy more molds while they still have them.
  23. Thanks all. Now if I can figure out a way to glue the top and bottom together, it will be even bigger. The box says the finished cupcake will be 12 inches tall. Now that's a cupcake. I bought this because my 50th Class Reunion is coming up in two years and I want to make them for the class members in the school colors and put a 5 and 0 candle on top of the icing.
