  1. Love your sig line! Don't mean to hijack but how do you put your info around the warning labels? Do you print them yourself? And I agree, it isn't tacky at all.
  2. I'll play Scent (cold throw) I want to be able to smell it. Many times there is no cold throw or it is very faint. Wouldn't buy that Strong scent when burning YES YES YES! Scent name (Monkey Farts, Butt Naked etc.) No, although I would bypass something that doesn't sound like something I'd like such as floral or patchouli Color Sometimes. I'd rather have a colored candle than white Unique style (layered, chunk etc.) Definately. Not too fond of chunk candles but unique ones catch my eye Finish (for pillars and votives) mottled, rustic etc. Not necessarily $ Price $ YES. Although since I've been making candles I'm willing to spend a little more on a quality one that will scent my entire room. Style of containern A little. I don't care for apothacary (sp?) or anything country at all. I wouldn't buy anything that even hinted at country. I am partial to Balmorals or those style of jars Type of wax (paraffin or soy) I actually prefer paraffin. IMO I haven't had a soy that burns well Burns completly (little to no hang-up) Yes, must burn cleanly down the container. I'm burning a soy one now that isn't doing this, doesn't have much of a hot throw at all and I'm a bit frustrated with it! Long burning Yes, I want to get my moneys worth Clean burning Yes, I don't like black soot coming from the wick Packaging (if jar is in a package box, cello etc.) Again, nothing country! Dupe scent at a lower price I like dup's How you are treated as a customer (if you talk to a sales person) Actually if I'm in a store I'd rather be left alone How the store looks or makes you feel (if you bought retail) I like a clean fresh funky type of store Sale (You only buy when on sale) Buy 2 get 1 FREE etc. Sale are good, but if they are at a good price then a sale wouldn't matter. However a sale would probably make me buy more!HTH Thanks Candle Man
  3. Yup. Now I put the FO container in the mold so I don't forget!
  4. Has anyone used Vaniglia in candles? Does it do well? I love that FO
  5. I think I'll try Soybean and Sunflower instead of the SAO
  6. Mine didn't have the fish soap dishes but I got a couple of the rubber molds, I mean ice cube trays! I'm gonna check another Target or 2 tomorrow for those fish soap dishes
  7. What size do you make? Do the larger ones sell better? Any particular jar is better than another? I've made some for myself but would like to include these in my fundraiser brochure. I'm thinking smaller, like 4 ouncers, for a fundraiser but I could be wrong! Wouldn't be the first time. I'll be offering tarts as well as my soaps and other B&B things. TIA
  8. Brenda those are fantastic! I've done 2 layers but not 3, now you inspired me! The scent sounds great too
  9. Beautiful. I LOVE Babassu in my soap. Play around with the oils you've got in that bar and you'll have a fantastic bar of soap. Up the crisco and down the coconut.
  10. Beautiful. You got the FO from Peaks? What's their website? I'm looking for a good Pink Grapefruit to soap. How did it behave?
  11. You need the Multibase. It's a very thick paste and you add the amount of water to make however thick/thin you need. Let me check around to see who sells that
  12. I make these using the clear aloe gel you can buy at Wal-Mart. It already has preservatives in it and I don't add glycerine
  13. Yup, Sara is right. It forces the gel but you still need to cure! And they do continue to shrink.
  14. What do you have? You can use sunflower and olive oil in scrubs too. Great properties
  15. I hate shopping too, but I love going to thrift stores. I'm in there once a week. They know me now!
  16. I've got some 4 ounce tins that I made candles with for me for the holidays. I liked them a lot. I used the J container wax and forget which wick I used, possibly and HTP73? Anyway, do these sell well for you? TIA
  17. Robin I've always LOVED your soaps and presentation. Great tutorial, but I have to say the sleeves in the one picture made me think of Dr. Seuss Hope you're not offended :undecided
  18. I used to make a lot of candles (a lot for me at least) but haven't for the past year. I made some at Christmas due to requests and realized that I really like making candles and missed it. I was at a local thrift store at lunch and scored a presto pot, brand new, for $5! I snapped that puppy up right away. I've got one already I found at the same thrift store a few years ago but figured 2 wouldn't hurt, huh?!?! Now I just need to print of the instructions on how to put the spigot on and give to my hubby I just LOVE thrift stores
  19. Just make sure that the majority of the oil is coconut. I belive it needs to be 50%
  20. Very nice. I love salt bars and I think I've finally "got" how to make them, after many failed batches! The salt stabilizes the coconut oil, thus not drying. Although I can't use it on my face or I feel like a prune but all over it creates a "creamy" lather. Love it! Just don't drop one on your toe:grin2:
  21. I made them in the Kelsei before. One word of advice though, line the bottom with something. Mine stuck
  22. Thanks everyone. I felt kind of wierd asking the groups where my kids belong but I think I'll do it anyway!
