  1. Tonight I poured tarts with GB 423. It couldn't be much easier like mbroom said earlier in her testing. From start to finish the tarts popped out after 50 minutes. I also poured some using Cargil C3 & V1. I used 75% C3 and 25% V1. I have not been happy with the fine circular crack using the blend but it does not affect the throw just the appearance. It's been 2 hours and they are not popping out yet..... I tested the GB423 with higher temperatures than mbroom with the same appearance results. With the GB423 I had no circular cracks and very smooth shiny bottoms. I heated the wax to 190, stirred in my FO (creamy vanilla 9%) at 180 for one minute and poured at 175. I love pouring hot! My room temperature was 72 degrees and humid. I have not yet burned it so I'll let you know of my results. At this time I'm very impressed with this wax. I just poured the GB449 and it's now cooling. I will post those results later. If the throw is good then I would switch as this process is so much easier and not having to combine waxes is a plus!!!!! I mainly pour tarts. Jason, is there anyone in TX carrying this wax?
  2. Prairie, Did you spray the polyeurathane on the labels before putting on bottle? I may try this! Thanks Edited to put "on the labels"
  3. I'm really in a bind.....I just purchased some 1 oz. Pet Bottles and they came with the disc tops. There is no way this can be used with lotion. The bottle won't squeeze. I'm looking for around 50 basic black screw on lids sz 20-410. I have a show Dec. 10th. If you have any to spare I can pay using paypal. Thanks
  4. Snowtop's FOs have an awesome throw in soy. She is limited but I have to say her oils really throw. I use C3 wax. I too buy most of mine local at Taylored Concepts & AAA Candle Supply. Kerry, Have you tried Taylor's Plumeria in C3? How is the throw. I just bought some because I was out of Snowtops......Snowtop's was a little strong for me but a couple of my testers loved it....... Thanks, Pam
  5. Laura, I bought one of those jars and tried to wick it with a HTP 1212. It burned all the way down but left a hang up on one side. I think I'll try some more as I got some CDN wicks. I might try the HTP 1312 to single wick or maybe double wick. They are pretty jars....... I use "Press & seal" which is found near the baggies, saran wrap and foil paper. It's a snap. I just tear off a piece and cut into the sizes I need for my jars and seal it around the top of the jar. Pam
  6. Hi Holly! Try this site......I just ran across these..... http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/ProductDetail.aspx?Tab=4&CatalogID=9&CatalogTitle=Containers+And+Packaging&ProductID=3951
  7. Dallas Dean..... Thanks for posting. I'm also new to this and this was very helpful. I also live in the Dallas Metroplex and am right down the street from both Taylored Concepts and AAA Candle Supplies. I get most of my fragrances from them. I have also purchased from Snowtop and they have quality fragrances. Taylored manufactures their own fragrances and it's so easy just to hop in the car and get more FO's if needed. I may try these guys out knowing the difference now between Grade A & B. Thanks for sharing! Pam
  8. Fire.... Do you use equal amounts of the C3 & V1? Thanks
  9. Yes it's like a vapor. Is this harmful?
  10. I haven't used the CD's but I just received a sample of the CDNs. What size container would you like to wick. I could send you a few if you would like to compare. Just PM me with your address. Pam
  11. What type of wax are you using? I am having an awful time with the heavy scents. Last night I used equal amounts of C-3 & V-1. I still see a vapor when they are burning. I even cut down from uing 10% to 7% FO. I've had this happen on my banana nutbread and Smores. I'm going to test more. I have an order for banana nutbread and don't want my tarts putting off a vapor. Thanks
  12. I got some V-1 and mixed 1/2V1 & 1/2C3. In the middle of the tart it has a circle crack in the middle. I have not burned yet as it's still setting up. When I just used C3 I got a smooth top with no cracks. What type wax do others use for their tarts? Thanks
  13. If you want just the 8 oz JJ with gold lids www.TayloredConcepts.com has them for $4.99 a dozen.
  14. I'm new at this too....I put mine in a polypropelene bag and sell for $2.00 each. My friend took them to work and was out before the day was up. I had yellow angels and pink ribbons. I just got a new shipment in last week and ordered twice as many as last time. I just paint the FO on with a brush and then take the brush and clean it with acohol for my next scent. I order mine from bellandcompany. They have different colors and their price includes shipping. Very reasonable! The ones you buy at the store I'm sure have been made up for some time. I think packaging is the key here!
  15. I've never had this happen before., but then again I have only been doing this for 3 months..... I was trying a new scent called Smores from Snowtop. I used 3/4 of an ounce to 8 ounces of C-3. The throw is great but I noticed smoking coming from the bowl.....I'm using a ceramic tart burner as I have with all other tarts. I added the same amount of FO as I have to my other tarts. Maybe I need to use less FO. Has anyone else encountered this?
  16. I like C3 for my tarts but having a difficult time wicking it. Are you pouring containers or tarts? How much fragrance are you using? I use 1.5 oz pp. Some scents I get a better throw than others in my containers. I find that when my wick is too small and I don't get a full meltpoint I get no scent. So I have to wick up. I'm still having a problem wicking my containers in all the different scents. Testing, testing and more testing! Some FO's are heavier than others. My tarts are fabulous!!!!!! I'm sure others will chime in with some more reviews.... I've only been doing this about 3 months and loving it..... Pam
  17. Taylored Concepts has a white liquid dye. I haven't used it but they have a sample of a candle they used with it. They have 3 candles in a 11 oz tureen. I'm not sure which wax is used but I know it's not soy. It's probably their new 50/50 blend. The first candle is not colored and is yellow in color. The 2nd candle they used 15 drops and it's close to white and then they used 25 drops and it's white...... I live down the street from them so I'm in there often. Ask to speak to Robert if you need any help.... www.tayloredconcepts.com
  18. Here's the link...... http://secure.candlesupply.com/catalog_page.cfm?queries_index=index7&title_main=&title_bar=&StartRow=16&Advance=Pre&Product_CatalogID=2157&ProductCodeID=47&ProductSubCodeID=276&NewProduct=0
  19. You might want to check out candlesupply.com. They have some rustic, pewter and antique gold for jelly jars at $2.18 a dozen. I was looking for also.
  20. Does anyone know where to get other lids besides the gold shiny ones that comes with these? I'm looking for a pewter or antique gold. The measurement of the lid is about 3 5/8". It's larger than the regular jelly jar lids. It screws on. Thanks:smiley2: Pam
  21. That is really cool!!!!! I've not seen anything like that.....People can come with all sorts of things if they just put there mind to it! Good job!
  22. I came across something that's a little different. Do you think that these are just colored scents? http://www.barnloftcandles.com/squezees.html
  23. I had the same problem.....I purchased C-3 from 2 distributors locally. The first was thick & greasy and the 2nd was thin & crisp. They burn the same to me.....I like the thin & crisp! I'm going to buy from the 2nd distributor from now on.
  24. M... Your candles look beautiful! Thanks for the info. Pam
