  1. I like the white marble one too.....A classier look!
  2. I know exactly what you are talking about. I'm using C-3 and I was testing out a premier wick. I've never experienced this before but the top of mine is exactly what you are describing a greyish green color. The rest of the candle is white. I used Citrus & Teak FO from AAA Candle Supply. Don't have a clue of what caused it.
  3. go to www.tayloredconcepts.com. They are located in Dallas. Shipping should be reasonable. They have different cellophane bags and crinkled shredded paper.
  4. Has anyone used these? What a deal if it is quality glass...... http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/ProductDetail.aspx?Tab=2&CatalogID=3&CatalogTitle=0&ProductID=5062
  5. Thanks Christina! I know you couldn't resist.....I thought about it except I'm having way too much fun testing!!!!!!!testing!!!!!!!testing!!!!!!!! (NOT) LOL Thanks all to the suggestions......
  6. I bought some items from her before Christmas. I was needing some kraft bags with handles and some frosted plastic bags. I was very happy with the cost, plus I got them right away.
  7. It's new ...Levines just started carrying them this month.......
  8. Not hot enough to know when I picked it up that it was burning! I guess it was just warm. The wax was way hotter than the tin.....
  9. OMG......I was talking to my sister on the phone and had just hung up. I am sitting at my computer, had the phone in my lap, reached up on my hutch to what I thought was an unlit candle and spilled it all over my keyboard and lap. Remember I had the phone in my lap.......well I'm now trying to get the wax off of it and the keyboard......My jeans....oh well...... Well the keyboard still types but has some places where I can't get.......I'm glad it way SOY! I was testing a 8 oz tin with a CDN 14 and I might say I think it was burning pretty well. It did have some hang up now that I look at it on one side. I don't know with the amount of wax that I lost if it will catch up on the next burn........ What's so unbelievable is that the tin was not hot... Pam
  10. I also love the Indonesian Teak & Violet Musk from Green Leaf. www.greenleafcandlesupply.com
  11. Scents, I also have the heart mold from Target. I use a combination of Cargill C-3 & V-1. These tarts are only .4 oz and I package them 12 in a package and sell them for $4.50. (12= 4.8 oz.) I would recommend using at least two heart tarts in a burner. I have two sizes in my tin molds. I too was not aware of the different sizes. I use the small molds which I classify as mini tarts as they are only .7 oz and fit well in the smaller tart burners. I package these up in sets of 3 and sell for $2.00. My 1.1 oz tarts I package in 3's and sell for $3.00. I use a 3 1/2 X 7 1/2 polypro gusseted bag and use a tin tie with a hangtag for all tart packages. IMO they are easier to pick up from the top of the bag and stay fresh looking. When I first started making tarts I only used C-3 and they were greasy & soft to touch and they made a mess in a bag.....I let them sit out for a day and they did dry out some and then packaged them. Then someone on this board told me that they used C-3 & V-1. I've not made votives and was not aware by adding the votive wax that it made such a difference. I now use the combo of C-3 & V-1. They fall out of the tin molds and are dryer to touch. I've not ever sold them individually as it's too time consuming and most people pick up a bag or two each time. I have sample jars for them to smell the scents and then they tell me which scents they would like. I keep my bags in a plastic bin labeled by categories...best sellers.., aromatherapy...and so on. That way I know which bin to look in. If I sold them individually I would sure use the suggestion above. Using plastic wrap makes sense. Has anyone ever thought about using the foil candy wrappers to wrap these up in? I was looking at these last night and was thinking that might be cool.....
  12. There is a company out there that does do individual scrubs, lotions, salts. You pick out the color and scents and they mix it for you. If you have a "Bath Junkie" in your area you need to go see the process. For the scrubs they first start with a dry base already in the container that you will take home. Next they put it in a big stainless steel bowl....I'm not sure if it's salt or sugar. Then they have these gallon jugs that that put two sqirts of some things and 1 squirt of others. They have their dye in an aluminum bottle with a sprayer (light the ones used for fragrance sprays) and I think they use sprayers with their fragrance oils. Once everthing is in the bowl they mix it with a bid spatula. I went there with one of my friends and the girl was making a lotion that they already had bottled and adding scent & color to personalize. My friend bought a scrub and the girl was making it so fast a couple of squirts of this & that but since I'm not familiar with bath & body ingredients I wouldn't know what they were. I haven't made any scrubs yet.....as I'm testing only candles, but this is something that is big in the Metropolitan Cities. I would like to start making some scrubs and bath salts so I've been doing alot of reading on this board. They have a website that you can go to www.bathjunkie.com. Their products are very pricey! Hope this helps. Pam
  13. OK....I'm curious......where do you get these?
  14. I got my sample on Wednesday. I poured some tarts with Cargil C-3 and V-1 that night and made a trip to Greenleaf (35-40miles) Thursday after my doctor's appointment. I sold all my tarts while I was at the doctors......My sample was Indonesian Teak. That is one strong scent.....I love it!!!!! I got a pound of that and then 8 oz of Violet Musk...... I'm hoping to try that one this weekend. It has such a unique smell OOB. I will report back my findings on this one. Although they don't have as many scents as some of the other suppliers near me they do have a nice assortment and some very unusual scents which I've been looking for. I was told they are planning to bring more in after testing. I poured the perfect blend also Wednesday night in a heart shaped libby glass. It took the whole pound. I colored it pink and put in Strawberries and Cream. I followed the directions as given and the results were wonderful. I had to use 3 wicks and now know I need to wick up. I've never used this container before and wasn't sure where to start. The candle set up beautifully. No sink holes....no wet spots ...couldn't ask for a smoother top. Brenda was not there but I had a gentleman there that showed me around and I told him I was having probems wicking a 11 oz tureen using Cargil C-3. He said Brenda has wicked many and gave me a few wicks to try. I may be wrong but think it might have been her husband, correct me if I'm wrong Brenda. He was very helpful and I'm sorry I can't remember his name....chemo brain..... Thanks Brenda for bringing some unique FO's to the market and please thank the gentleman that was so very helpful. Pam
  15. I haven't purchased any of their scents and was ordering a few supplies and started looking at their FO's. I'm using cargil C3 container wax. I'm particularly interested in the Victoria Secret Type. Has anyone tried any of these scents in soy? If so, how is the cold & hot throw and is this a good duplication? Love Spell Type Forbidden Fantasy Type Endless Love Type Forever Romance Type I also noticed they had Sunwashed Linen & Sandalwood & Ginger Apple. These say "new" on the site.....has anyone tried any of these? If you have any favorites that you like from Lone Star can you tell me what & why? Thanks for taking the time to read this thread. Pam

  18. I live about 4 minutes from their show room. Too convenient! I was there almost every day the month of December. I buy most of my supplies from them. I haven't been disappointed with any of their FO's. My favorites are Spearmint Eucalyptus & Vanilla Sandlewood. They have a real nice Baby Supreme and my best seller at Christmas was Cinnamon Cider.... I think you will be happy with their products.
  19. Go to www.tayloredconcepts.com and look under molds. I live down the street from them and you don't have to buy the whole set although they have them. They are $.75 each. I use these for tarts. These hold 1 oz.
