  1. I haven't done gel candles so how would you set up a scene? Are these called embeds? Do you glue them to the bottom of the jar? Sorry so many questions but I'm a newbie......(less than 2 months) I've been testing and testing candles trying to figure out wick sizing for C-3 and have gone thru two cases of tureens......I figure I'm going to get it down one of these days......
  2. I have had two test burns on my double wicked candle. I used two HTP 52s. The first burn did well and went all the way around in 3 hrs. The 2nd test it took 5 hours to completely burn across. I have only done 1 test burn on the HTP 1212. It also took 3 hours to burn all around but it had a big...mushroom! I will let you know how the 1212 does on the 2nd test burn. I am axious to try the 1312. Thanks
  3. I've been using C-3 and I was having a problem with an air pocket next to the wick. I also heated my jars on low in the oven and I poured hot at 180. Always an air pocket. But now the other day I warmed my jars up by my little heater that stays on my workbench. It's on low and I poured hot again at 180. I then moved the jar back near (not too close) my heater and I haven't had a air pocket since. I think maybe because it cures closer to the temperature it was poured. I don't know if that makes any sense but it has worked for me. What are you talking about when you say surface cracks? I've only had air pockets. Hope this helps. Pam
  4. Thanks Abbie.......I'm going to go pour one with the 1212. I don't have the 1213. I'll keep my fingers crossed...... Thanks so much for your help! Pam
  5. Geek, I poured a double wick last night using HTP 52. I'll let you know how it comes out......:smiley2: Thanks
  6. I use C-3 and was getting air pockets as well right around the wick. I warmed my jars up in the oven on low temp. I pour hot around 180. The other day I had my small fan heater on my workbench and I warmed the jar up putting it in front of the heater and then after I poured at 180 I put in back near the heater/fan. I haven't had a air pocket since. I guess because the jar is warm and t's cooling down around the same temperature. Sounds crazy I know but it works.....
  7. Has anyone been successful in wicking this jar. I am using C-3 soy and wicked with a HTP 105. It does not completely burn clean. I have only tested it once for 3 hours. It has a 3.25 opening and a little larger thru the middle. Any suggestions? Please??? Thanks Pam
  8. Thanks.....I'm not one for sweets either but someone requested this. I do like plumeria and wanted to see what you all thought about it. Thanks again!
  9. Has anyone used Peak's Strawberries & Cream and Plumeria? If so, what do you like about them? I'm going to being using in Soy.... Thanks
  10. Thanks....that's what I needed to know.
  11. Taylored Concepts is about 3 minutes from my house.....Oh how I hate that!!!! I'm there at least every other day. All my scents, supplies and wax come from there and I have about 50 different FO's. Angie, I too love their Apple Strudel. If you light Sweet Pea you need to try their own scent Sweet B's....it's my favorite....great scent throw. I also love the White Tea & Ginger, Spearmint Eucalyptus, Georgia Peach, White Tea, Spice Green Tea, Linen., and their own Taylored Brulee... I use the C-3 Soy and they have their own brand of a 50/50 soy blend which they came out with in August. I haven't done much with the 50/50 but I do like the blend. I use the zinc wicks with it and I'm sure it's my fault....I probably use too much FO cuz you can use up to 12% and my wicks mushroom. I can't go up in wick size for the jar I'm using. Robert is very knowledgeble and very helpful. They also have a special each month for 16 oz fragrances for $10.00. Sept. they had Red Hot Cinnamon, Angel Wings, White Tea and Pumpkin Cappecino (sp). I'll have to see tomorrow what scents are for October. I've not used other manufacturer's FO's so I don't have anything to compare them with. I did find a manufacturer on Ebay that sells their FO's very cheap. There name is Gemlite. I've asked if anybody had ever used their scents but have no responses. I have been very pleased with Taylored Concepts FO's, waxes and customer service....... and it's very convenient for me. Hope this helps.
  12. I've been using Cargil C-3 soy and love it. Soy makes great tarts and has a great throw. I used the aluminum molds as they are so easy to get out. I make two sizes....a mini for the smaller tart burners and a large one for a deeper dish burners. I prefer the soy tarts and I don't color them..but it all boils down to what your customers want. MO only. I've not tried the aluminum cupcake liners. I hear they work great!
  13. I found this manufacturer on EBAY. Their name is Gemlite. Has anyone ever used their FO's? They are really cheap...... They have great feedback..
  14. Bev, Those are great looking.......you did a great job in design and packaging. Good job.....
  15. Are you all using the ribbons or stretch cords? What is a reasonable price to ask for these? Thanks Pam
  16. It looks great!!!!!!!! I'm set up in my laundry room. It's an addition which is 1/2 the size of a 1 car garage. I used to bead in here and now I've brought in another table for candles. I just started making candles 3 weeks ago and I'm hooked.....haven't done much beading lately. My laundry room has turned into my craft room.......It's getting a little cramped but I make do. I see your scents are on a shelf. I use a 2 tiered lazy susan so I can turn and see what I'm looking for. I used to have them in a shoe box but last night I got this idea and it works great.....Something you might want to think about down the road. I know you are going to enjoy your new space........... Good job!!!!! I going to attempt to add a picture......Well that didn't work. When I hit insert image a prompt comes up and ask me to enter the URL of my image.....?????? Any help is appreciated..... Thanks
  17. I use Taylored Concepts new 50/50 blend which just came out in August. It has great scent throw cold & hot. It's very good and easy to wick and I'm a beginner. I also use pure soy C-3. The owners are very nice to work with and will help you with your questions. I live close by so I don't have to pay shipping. Their scents are nice too..... Go to www.tayloredconcepts.com Has anyone else used this wax?
  18. I did hit the mountain but it ask for the URL of my picture....This is what I don't understand....I don't know what the URL is.... The picture is located in My Pictures....No URL! Does this make sense? Thanks
