  1. Just so you know the ReddigGlo soy color chips from CandleScience work very well also. If you are having trouble with the service from the other place you might want to give those a shot as well. We had great luck with them and the service at Candlescience is second to none! Hope that helps!! Mark
  2. Also check out Vanilla Dreams from the Scented Bean and Apple Jack & Peel from Candlescience.
  3. I am with Islandgirl.... 24-48 and test then if you can again in about 3 more days. The ones that are strong at 24 hours are good ones in the end. However I have run into just a few (actually only one) that actually moved backwards after about 45 days sitting... I had a customer complain that they couldn't even smell it!! We took them back and burned them and they were right I couldn't smell it either. Anyway that scent is no longer used in our line... :-) Hope that helps!! Mark
  4. The one we have heats up to 185 and works wonderfully... it isn't really a tart burner it is a potpourri crock pot.. WORKS GREAT!! Fills the house with whatever we put in it and it is a totally liquid meltpool. I know that they say not to use these because of the high temp but our tarts get scent added at 185 anyway so if it stays under 200 I don't see much problem with it. Hope that helps, Mark
  5. We only use C3 (Naturewax) from Cargill and we use the standard 8oz square side mason jars... We currently have about 25 different scents and we only have 1 of them that uses a different wick. The wick we go through with everything but 1 scent is the HTP83. All of our candles burn cleanly down the jar and only on the rare occasion that the wick doesn't get totally centered is there any wax hangup on the sides. You can message me off the board if you would like more information I can help you with that wax since we have been using it since day 1 and have pretty much tested everything possible with it. Hope that helps!! Mark
  6. Laura, Could they possibly be cooling too quickly? I had another batch that I tried to rapidly cool in the freezer right after pouring and they did that also. I remelted them and poured them again at 165ish and let them cool at room temp (72ish) and the same wax came out perfect. Hope that helps or maybe answers something. JASON, I will be uploading some new pics and some really hardcore pushes on this wax thanks to the "sample" you sent me. I am going to keep pushing this wax to find out what it's made of.... lol I am up to 12% on Cinnamon Vanilla with no ill effects in a small batch. Like I said I am going to keep pushing just to see what it will do. Once I find out how much FO it can hold I will start pushing the color.... Mark
  7. In an 8oz Mason (Square) can anyone suggest a wick?? I use HTP83 to begin with so I guess I will try a 1212?? Wax is Cargill C-3... Thanks, Mark
  8. I don't measure temperature much but I do watch the wax and oil in the pour pot carefully.. if you notice at lower temps you can see an oily effect in the wax. I make sure everything is hot enough so the oily effect goes away thats when I turn the heat off.... Not sure that answers your question but that is my method. I do measure temps when testing but after that I just eyeball it. Mark
  9. Linda, I heated to about 160 and pushed the scent right away and kept stirring for about 3 minutes. I poured almost immediately following that and had no problems at all. According to Jason the 423 is ok for votives but he hadn't tried it yet and as of this moment we don't make them. I would try some but don't have the equipment. Hope that helps! Mark PS I am waiting on another sample to do some more testing with some heavier FO's and color this time... we will see if I can push it over the edge...
  10. Thank you very much! I will look into that... thanks all for your help. Mark
  11. Sorry... what is NG?? I have a sample of Peaks as well but I don't even know what it is supposed to smell like so it's hard for me to judge.
  12. I have a request from someone wanting Patchouli candles.... Can anyone direct me to the best out there for use in soy wax??? Also what color if any do you use with this scent?? Any help is appreciated! Thanks, Mark
  13. I just sent you one..... Check it out please!! Thanks, Mark
  14. Thanks all.... The 423 is very good. That is my final word on it after pouring, scenting, melting, and smelling. Now to find a vendor. :-)
  15. Thank you Fern... I have always had great luck with them as well. Just wasn't sure about the FOs. Thanks a bunch!!
