Kawboy888
These are some old candles that I made several years ago. They are nothing special but gel candles don't seem to be represented too often in here so I thought I would try to breath some new life into the gel side. Stella1952
That martini sure looks good to me right about now... Nice work!!
Ravens
I especially like the one with the little umbrella stuck inside; looks so real and inviting. Don't know if the little bubbles are just the way the gel sets or if Rich somehow made it look that way, but it sure adds to it! How old are the candles? Do they deteriorate after a while? TIA
Kawboy888
The picture quality sucks. In the umbrella candle they aren't actually bubble. I pour the scented and dyed gel into a Tupperware container that rip apart little chunks. This leaves rigid edges that are clear and makes the gel look like ice chips when put into the candle. Then pour more hot gel into the candle to fill in the void space. Unfortunately adding the hot gel takes away a lot of the "ice chip" look. Some of these candles are ten years old. They don't deteriorate, they collect dust and the dye spreads through the gel into undyed gel after time.
Ravens
Thanks for the info, Rich. I'm beginning to see there's a lot of work involved in crafting a quality gel candle! Not for me, I'm afraid. I just don't have the patience and "creative" I'm not, LOL
Kawboy888
I always had to be in the mood for it. Haven't been in the mood for it in years but I do like to see what other people come up with, just for the sake of looking at eye candy. soapbuddy
Great job! I used to make them, but there wasn't much demand in my area.
SliverOfWax
I can more or less understand putting underwater scenes in gel candles, but what's with the dog and the tractor? Was there a market for that? I suppose maybe Farmer's Markets and that kind of thing. My ex-farmer brother would probably like it. They've held up well if those are recent pictures. NaturallyTru
Nice! I did gel from 2000-2002 and would be embarrassed to put mine up against yours. Though I did think mine were pretty good back then...lol.
Candybee
I always liked the gel candles that look like a jar of fruit preserves. They are my favorite. Those make me hungry!

Kitn
Beautiful work, if they don't get people buying I don't know what will.
