homecomfort
I have no experience with this scent but I've heard Sweetcakes is supposed to be pretty good (if you're willing to pay the high price). Here's their description:Oakmoss Fragrance Oakmoss is a perfumery classic, prized for both its staying power and the earthy, foresty note it imparts (one Sweet Cakes customer described our Oakmoss as "all the scents of the forest rolled into one"). Add a dash of oakmoss to florals and men's blends for a touch of woodsy mystery; equal parts of oakmoss, lavender, and patchouli make an incredible men's blend. They've posted an fo blend for "Lancelot" which includes oakmoss, amber, sandalwood, and spruce garland that sounds intriguing. Good luck with your hunt!
jenn624
WSP has an Oakmoss & Sandalwood that is just wonderful. I've only CP soaped it, though, never tried it in candles or anything else.
Faerywren
Bramble Berry's smells like a forest floor, in my opinion. Very earthy.

Darbla
I think I read somebody's description of Bert's as smelling like household cleaner. That scared me away from it. Is that similar to your experience?
deisel
not quite cleanerish, but definately not earthy. and there doesn't seem to be any patch notes either. might try aztec when i order their cozy cabin (this is wonderful) Thanks for your help all!kris
Darbla
How did the oakmoss hunt go? Are you all using it as a mixer or a standalone scent?
Scented
Is BCN still carrying it? I don't think it was bad, but I opted for an SS version that had other things mixed into it.
deisel
i ended up not ordering any different version-because i straightened out the old FO cupboard and found - tah dah - 3 samples of BCN oakmoss!!! this smells much deeper/earthier than the bert's version. Now, if i could only remember what i wanted to do with it???!!! thanks for the suggestions- kris
