MrsUte
I was setting up for my very first craft show this evening and I'm in a room next to another candle maker. No problems there I was quite pleased with my set up. They saw I was selling candles as well and one of them said something to the effect - "We've got the best store - going to do mighty well tomorrow" (followed by hyena like laugh). Now, they didn't say it to me, but they could have waited until they were out of earshot. Just bugged me a little. I'm already nervous enough. Thanks for listening and wish me luck!!:smiley2:

jdscreations
Good luck hon!!!!! Just know that those type of people are just jealous and have nothing better to do but talk about others to make themselves feel better. Sorry that it had to happen to you. You are going to do great tomorrow. Keep us posted.
Fire and Ice
That's why they said it, to make you feel nervous and low. Put a smile on you face and kick their butt!
Bev
It's called intimidation. Don't let them get to you. I was in a room with 3 other chandlers and I did very well at the craft fair I was entered in. Be positive, smile and talk to customers. If you believe in your product, your customers will, too!!! Good luck!!!! :smiley2:
sharyl55
Ditto what everyone else has already said. Plaster that smile on your face and knck them dead.

wildangel112
I had a similar situation at my last show. The competition had cause to eat their words as I made over $700 and I was later told that they barely made over $100:p . I agree with everyone here. Put a big smile on, get out there and have a great show. Best of luck to you:) !
LynnS
What a tacky and rude thing to say.I think they are jealous and need to make themselves feel better. They are feeling inferior and afraid they won't do good and just making you look bad.Let us know how it goes. Those are the ones who lose out in the end.For that remark I would not even talk to them but if one word is said I would never let them know if I had a good or bad day. MrsUte
Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement. With 7 other chandlers at a show with only about 60 vendors total, I was happy with 15X my booth fee. I've got the fever - bring em on! Meridith
Just think that if they are THAT rude to you how they must be to their customers. I agree it was meant to rattle your cage and intimidate you. So glad it didn't. The best revenge was you doing so well. Congratulations. MuskokaMom
Congrats on your success! Doesn't matter how well others did, only that you exceeded your expectations. Not too sure what the last poster meant by their comment, but I say way to go girl!!
lil_fish
I've only been in one craft show, and had the very same thing happen. Two ladies standing not too far away going on about my packaging, or some such thing. Just made me all that more determined. No worries, hon...you show 'em up, and make them eat those words!!Cheryl
