geekgoddess420
I'm officially an addict to tart making and I'm about to try container candles. I setup little tackle boxes with samples of the 15 scents I have now. I have about 8 that were a real hit and now all the "reps" (aka people I gave scent sample boxes) to are begging me to get some more scents for Christmas. So basically this business is growing faster than I keep up. I'm sure Christmas has EVERYTHING to do with it. In anycase, I need some help with what dealers to get the FO's I have chosen from. I know the board supports Peaks, and all the Peaks scents I've tried are GREAT:Dbut I've also heard Just Scents and BitterCreek were great as well. THen I found ICS Indiana Candle Supplies. 1st - does anyone have any experience with the FO's from Indiana Candle Supplies? Here's the list, between JS, BCN, Peaks and ICS who would you choose for these scents Amish Harvest Banana Nut Bread Blueberry MuffinsVanilla Hazelnut Cinnamon Bun Pumpkin Pie Spice Jamaica Me Crazy Juicy Pineapple Honeysuckle Vanilla Butternut CrunchClean Cotton Clothes Line Spruce Christmas Tree Snow Angels Jack Frost Pink Sugar Sweet Pea Other Scents we like Lovespell Sage and Citrus MacIntosh Bayberry Caribbean HolidayMulberryBalsamHome for the Holidays Lilac Lavender Fresh Cut Roses Mandarin Bamboo Starfruit & Mango Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice Nana’s Apple Butter Grandma’s Kitchen Black Currant Red Currant Claire Burke Original Herbal Ecstasy Midsummer Night Ocean MistMoonlight Path Tuscan Nights Snowy Pine *I heard Farmhouse had a GREAT version of this scent Like if you all could tell me who you think has the best version of the FO's ... that would be SUPER DUPER... and any cost saving tips on where to buy, without giving up quality would be GREATLY appreciated. Hope everyone is doing GREAT

Elizabeth
IMO some are just personal preferences, like I prefer Peak's banana nut bread, but Just Scents' BNB is also great. It also comes down to how much you want to spend. I really love SweetCakes' Oatmeal Milk and honey, but it is much more expensive. There are other suppliers who have a great version as well, just not my preference.Best thing to do is get some sample sizes from a few suppliers and make your choices from there.Good Luck!Don't forget to try out TriState and Southern Scentsations as well. Both are awesome suppliers with some kick ass fo's that are affordably priced.
Scented
Gotta agree with Liz! Then again, you may want to try out Nature's Garden and Creative Candle Supply and even Tony's too.
Spellkast
If you want cost effective- go with ICS or Peaks. If you're planning on buying whole pounds of scents, then JS is great, but not for smaller quantities. ICS has 1,2,4 and 8 oz. sampler packs which are very cheap, and I have loved all of their oils (although there have been problems with some people) So, just buy some sampler packs..Just Scent's is having a great sale right now, 10 oils for $14.95 and she usually throws an extra one in there. Peaks is 10 for $20 and ICS is also 10 for $15. I think BCN has a sampler pack of 12 for $20. I think NG is pretty pricey- their sampler packs are the same as peak's, but every oil I've liked has been about $8.00 for four ounces...and definitely don't get Tony's. They're great, but expensive. I'd try each scent from at least 2 different suppliers. It might smell great in the bottle, but not throw at all in your candle once the scent is in the wax! There are a lot of great companies out there, so try them out!

Texas Rose
Well, I'd like to join the band wagon on this one...cause it amazes me that ya'll will squable over who has the best, etc. When it all comes down to it - all these companies buy from manufacturers, and sometimes they buy from the same ones. It's just a matter of who can offer you the better price, or the higher concentration of fragrance in the oil.I've always been on the prowl for the best LILAC - now THAT's hard to find!!!! But I did, I just can't afford to buy 25lbs.I've tried scents from Pourette, Candlewic, Texas Candle Supply, Candles and Supplies, Steve's (in NY), Bittercreek...and no matter what, they all have different concentrations; and scents can vary because of it...and I've tried scents from the Manufacturers too...and that's another story. So, don't waste your time running around wondering/asking - BUY a sample, and move on:mad: if you don't like it. IF you find one you love - keep track of that one!And for the record - Most oils will last years if you keep it in a cool dark area, in brown bottles. HEAT & chemicals breaks down anything over time. Even Flourescent lightening will affect your fragrance oils. IF they affect your skin, you know it does a number of other things, right? And check to be sure YOUR candle supply place keeps their fragrances in a climate controlled place...not in some hot warehouse. WHAT YOU DON'T SEE can make a difference in your product.I have some good strong Essential oils for over 10 years, in dark brown bottles, that still work.. I don't use them for candles, heat makes anything change it's natural make-up. Common sense will tell you that....even with the bru-haha over soy wax...Texas Rose
