Soaping oils prices

I am such a pack rat for keeping invoices and I thought this was interesting and has prodded me into taking a closer look at the prices for the soap I sell. I have only increased my price once in the past 2 years but maybe it's time again.

Old invoice from Columbus Foods from early in 2006

50 lbs PKO $50 now is $67.50

50 lbs 92 degree coconut $39.50 now is $ 62.50

50 lbs RBD palm $36.50 now is $60.00

When my oils come tomorrow I imagine I will be equally shocked to see the UPS charges.

Heck just last summer coconut 76 alone only cost us $35, but was over $60 to bring in another 50 lbs. I'm loaded in PKO (flaked and not) and still have a good portion of 30 lbs of palm, but it was shocking to see the differences in prices now.

It's the same over here in U.K, everything is going up in price almost every week & as for petrol, I'm lucky if it doesn't go up twice a week.

My budget is very small so I can only buy £10/$20 roughly worth of petrol a week which means when it's gone I don't drive, plus public transport isn't cheap either.....BAH

I could tell you some nightmares about price increases. One example is the EVOO that we use in the restaurant went up by over $12/gal. You'll be seeing your dining-out tab go up, if it hasn't already!! There is just no way around raising prices and passing it on to the public == it sucks!!
