Candle Plates & Christmas Containers

Recommended Posts

Hi All:

So this morning, I dragged my fat a** out of bed and went to an auction with my husband...he was looking for trains, I of course was looking for stuff I didn't need. I was feeling kind of adventurous and they were auctioning off a closed box that weighed 50lb+. I hadn't bought anything so I figured what the hell..no one was bidding. I got it for $6.00..inside of the box were these gorgeous mirrored mosaic square plates, 25 of them. I have to show these off...I'm not selling the plates with the ebay auctions because people want stuff for nothing there...I will put them in my retail outlets...so here's a photo and he's some vintage containers I found also.

I'm selling the pine cone candle and the dozen tarts scented mrs. randy's vanilla bean and cns pine

This container is heavy...it's a vintage sleigh..where you can see the snow the container is hollow so there are about 3lbs of wax in this baby..scented cranberry/balsam...I still need to make cranberries for the top

This is metal sleigh I filled with a special blend I call Lemon Pizzelles..these are soaps..they smell delish forgot to mention..these are soaps, not tarts

Chocolate Covered Cherries..pretty simple and straightforward but I like the boxes...did a bunch of them last night..they have wording on both sides

This last one of course is pink..one of my templates has a scrolling banner that reads I'm dreaming of a Pink Christmas..this sleigh is dated 1952..it's the same age as me...I have wax presents to fill in the back of the sleigh cooling right now..scented frostbite.

The plates are 8" square...hard to figure out why an elderly person would have these...this was an estate auction. One woman bought a box for about the same price and it was filled with broaches...she an I traded a couple of plates for some of the broaches. believe me...I never get this lucky!

Wow, what a find. I want to go with you next time. I love antiques and estate sales. Ginger

They're the best aren't they? Every sunday from April to October I go to this huge flea market, I can find the best things there..it's nice, especially when you list on ebay to find anything that makes your auctions more unique..plus, I find the best enamelware there..and cheap

Wow.....you got lucky.....maybe you should by a lottery ticket (smile)....I love vintage things. I collect "stuff"......way to much "stuff".....but I love it. I was at a local store yesterday and looking at dipped pine cones. They had some huge, and I do mean huge, sugar pines and they were $40.00 each. Maybe I should start learning how to dip pine cones. We have a billion of them here. Donita
