lothrid
Hi,I decided that I want to purchase a mold. Has anyone tried the TOG 10" Econo Break-A-Way Mold? If so, what are your thoughts? It sounds like Paul makes great soap molds, but I am curious about this model. Thanks!Jamie

mystical_angel1219
OMG I love my TOG mold! I am sorry that I have nothing to report on that particular mold. I have the same one that CBE has. Very well made, sturdy piece of equipment. I am getting the three bay log mold next. YAY!! TOG Mold Co-op is coming up very soon.

mystical_angel1219
Oh man... please do let me know!!! :yay: :yay: Working on the particulars now with Paul. As soon as I get the Online Label Co-op wrapped up and finished, I am going to post the TOG mold Co-op. He has mentioned some rather A-W-E-S-O-M-E savings for the soap addicted CTers. YAY! I can't wait! I'd say late Nov.
asheebeans
MA, you big tease!! Dangling the idea of wonderfully made, low priced molds in front of us! How could we not resist? I am waiting impatiently for the Christmas-present-for-myself, um, I mean "TOG mold" co-op!

Ruina
TOG Mold Co-op is coming up very soon. Oh Wow! I've been hearing wonderful things about these. Since I'm just a hobbyist, I find his molds too large for my use. Maybe someday that'll change. So I'll definitely be watching this closely. Ruina
yep I saw that but it's a log. I prefer slabs. I had someone create a 1lb slab for me and I'm working on him doing a 2lb one. That TOG 12 bar w/divider looks real nice but that's way too much soap for me right now. Maybe a year or two down the road.
mystical_angel1219
Ruina, you make a valid point there. Not everyone likes log molds. I'll have to let him know that maybe a mini-slab TOG mold might be good to add to his line. Like the one he already has, but in a 4- 6 bar size. Hmm. Perfect for testing finicky FO, I believe. LOL!! CareBear
Even though I work with 0.1 gram increments, I have never been comfortable making a batch size under 2# oils. Below that I don't get consistent results so my hats off to those of you accurate enough to do it.
Ruina
1 lb batches are all I've done. 7 of them so far and no zap! I do take my time measuring & re-measuring to make sure everything's right.
Soapmaker Man
Well, I test drove the new TOG Mini 6 bar Slab Divider Mold today. It holds 24 ounces of oils to make a batch of 6 bars, 3-3/8" long by 2-1/2" high by 1-1/8" thick. It was really cool to swirl in this size mold! You get 6 bars, kinda fun and cool!Paul.... eugenia
Paul, my favorite mold is the one my husband made for me, modeled after the Misty Creek. You have to line it; it has the knife slits. At any rate, the bars are 3.5 x 2.5 and it makes 24 (6 lbs). Are you up for making a divided slab for 3.5 x 2.5 bars? I got rid of my Kelsei because I wanted bigger bars (they are 2 x 3). I use boxes, these are the specs:3-13/16 long x 2-3/4 wide x 1-3/16 high I loved the principle of the Kelsei, but the bars rattled around in the boxes and I really like my packaging.e

I can make one exactally what you want if need be.

Soapmaker Man
I'm listing it this afternoon later at my shop as a "special" this weekend. It makes 6 or 12 bars. I love that little guy as it is so easy to swirl in. 24 ounces or 48, it is just as cute as a bug!Paul....
Ruina
question Paul, wouldn't driving the dividers in mess up the swirls?
