candle freak
How many different sizes do you sell? I was thinking about selling 3 different sizes in the bulb jar, but i'm not sure. Maybe 9 oz, 16 oz, and 24 oz or adding the cute little 4.5 oz jars and selling 4 sizes. I'm making this decision more difficult than it has to be, i know. I would appreciate all of your input.I still haven't completely made up my mind which jars to use--the bulb jars are cute, but the apothecary jars are cheaper. Are the apothecary jars easier to wick because they are straight sided? I will be using 4627 wax. Thanks.

Crafty1_AJ
I make 3 sizes, but 99% of my sales are the 8 oz. jars, so I don't bother to make too many of the other sizes anymore.

If I'm out of an 8oz, which seems to be the case with Butt Naked, they will buy the 16 oz.They never ask for a smaller or larger container than what I carry. (best seller #1) & 16 oz. square mason jar (best seller #3) and large enamel mug with lid (best seller #2) and offer a 20 oz. apoth jar with wooden lid and bail handle (mostly wholesale on these) and now a 10 oz. enamel mug w/lid wholesale only.HTH:)
candle freak
Thank you that was very helpful. I could sell the 4.5 oz, 16 oz and 24 oz and just cut the 9 oz jars right out of the picture. I have an appointment at Wellington tomorrow to look at their jars so i can see which sizes look better together esthetically.
jennhalcyon
I sell 2 sizes. The small 4.5 oz jars are a huge seller, then once they fall in love with a scent they start to by the large. I got rid of my medium size for that reason...they skipped right over it!

valerie6
Hi,I started with just the 16 oz. and then added the 4.5 oz jar, and people love the small jar they feel like they can sample a scent without having to buy the large jar in case they do not care for the scent. Hope that helps.Valerie
Debra Phelps
You don't want to cut your 9oz. It will be your best seller. I sell 1.5oz, 4oz. 8oz. 16oz.26oz. Out of these 75% are 8oz. They are perfect for the craft shows.
hometowncandles
I started out with 4 sizes in the apothecary, 5, 10, 16, and 26. I have recently decided to stop selling the 5's and 10's because between the cost of the jars and the increase in shipping, I'm not sure people are going to want to pay what I need to get out of them. I am currently looking into testing the 8 ounce square masons, I think they are soooo cute, and it would give my customers more of a try me size. Alot of people want to be sure they like something the first time they try it. But most of my repeat customers want the 16's and 26's. debscent
I'm not sure why you would cut out your 9 oz. jar if alot of people in this thread told you their 8 oz. sold well. I stopped doing 16 oz. apoth. jars because they didn't sell as well as my 10 ounce salsa jar and I do well with 6 oz tins too.
K&W
We sell 8oz, 14oz and 20oz....... our best sell is also the 8oz......... but our poured votives do well also.
racolvin
I do a 3oz (3.5 actually) tureen, an 8oz apothecary and a 16oz apothecary. Oddly enough my 3oz tureen is my largest seller by quantity. Which is great actually since they're the easiest to make and have the greatest profit margin
