dcroome2005
That didn't come out right. Rice Flower & Shea from Backwoods.. I wanted two different colors and it didn't happen. I just wanted a shade lighter on the second one and it didn't work but these burn great and the throws are great.

NYcandles
ok another person who makes great rustic pillars! I can't stand it! Apparently I am rustic pillar challenged! Can someone help me out. I am using 1343 I have poured at 160 and they came out smooth, not rustic at all. I poured at 135 and they have only little patches of that rustic film look. Before I pour the wax into the mold I spray with a little mold release and then pour a little bit in fast so it splashes on the sides of the mold (like my directions say) I then pour the remainer of the wax in and when I unmold them, nothing, they look plain and patchy. HELP!
eugenia
I think they look great!NYCandles, don't spray your molds. Don't put them in the fridge. Use 3 TBS of stearic per lb. of wax. Cool to 150 and pour. You are doing the splash thing, that's important with layers. Pour the next layer when the first is starting to set up, but is not yet firm. If you take the mold in your hand and gently move it, you can see the wax move underneath the layer that is setting up. That's the magic moment for the next layer. Takes a little practice to get them just right.e
eugenia
Let me clarify, if you are not doing layers, freezing the mold first can help with the finish. I still don't use mold release.
