malaki
OK I NEED SOME HELP OF WHERE TO GO NEXT. ive been using c-3 for my 8oz square mason and i have been having one hell of a time with these jars. all my other jars i can wick fine with this wax using cd wicks. so i made 4 jars with a 10 , 12 , 14 ,16. the batch i made was c-3 no additives and 3 drops of ivory liquid dye and ultimate vanilla from js. the cold throw was awsome and so is the hot even though none of these wicks are giving me a FMP. ok the 10 has alot of hang up and the 12 has little hang up but the wick is struggling 14 has almost FMP but has been burning for 6 hours. 16 is too big and it is sooting like crazy. so after all my rambling i was wondering if anybody has same problems and what wick seems to work the best for them in this jar and wax. i was thinking of going with eco's but just wanted some advice from you guys.thank you for any help what so ever. this jar is driving my nuts . Jordan
We use JS soy or KY125 and have been wicking this size jar with CD 16 and it is perfect for most scents--absolutely no soot. Sometimes we have to wick up to an 18.....you had soot? Hmmm, I guess it is the different wax, but we can never get a fmp with a 14 in this jar. I have used Hemp in this jar too, 1200 or 1400. Sorry I am not much help
LanaH
I'm using Golden Blend 435, a 60C will get most scents but sometimes I have to use a 62C.
Bev
I use EZ Soy and have had a lot of success using a CD-14 with most scents in this jar. I twist my wicks (a trick I learned on this forum) and that seems to help. I have very little to no hangup. HTH.
Sharon in KY
Use GF 435 too, and the CD 14 but I twist my wicks about four times. Good for me with most scent.
scntdwik
What does twisting the wick do? First time Ive ever heard of that!

Bev
What does twisting the wick do? First time Ive ever heard of that!Sometimes the wicks curl down to one side and cause a lopsided burn. If you twist the wick, the wick slowly uncurls as it burns and burns evenly all the way down.
lsbennis
I use CB 135 and have had good luck wicking with CD 14 & 16 as well as RRD 40 and sometimes I can get an LX 22 or 24 to work. HTH
scntdwik
I use J225 and get no hangup at all and a clean burn all the way down with LX 22's.
scentlady
I use CB135 with super large hemp core wicks with ultimate vanilla.
Sharon in KY
I use J225 and get no hangup at all and a clean burn all the way down with LX 22's.I don't twist when I use LX wicks. Just on the wicks that bend while burning.
motherofalltrades
I use the Cotton wick size 60-44-18C for my 8oz. Square Mason jars. I use 100% soy. I get a good melt pool and throw with them. A few of my spicy oils(with cinnamon) I have to wick up to a Cotton wick size 62-52-18C.HTH
Crowded House
I found that I didn't have to twist any more after I sharpened my scissors. This resource has been my absolute best friend in wicking since Top turned me on to yield months ago. It takes forever to load so I suggest a download for reference.
Kigers24
You may want to try HTP105, it is a little hotter than CD14 but not quite as hot as CD16, that is the wick I move up to in this jar (GL 70/30 wax) if CDN14 or ECO6 is a little too small but CDN16 or ECO8 is too big. Carriegsxr6
I am having the best of luck with using c-3 and the HTP 105 with these 8oz square masons. I filled mine with 6oz wax, .5oz FO and 3 drops liquid dye. I am test burning for 4hrs at a time in order to reach a full melt pool. I am getting a great burn and scent throw.
