htaylorrn
Ok, I'm playing around with sugar scrub after buying and sampling some wonderful ones on this board. My problem is I'm using a LOT of oil...mainly fractionated coconut oil and it seems to be drying my skin. Is that nuts??Does anyone have a suggestion about the best oil for the bulk of your scrub to get the most moisturizing? TIA,Heather
valleygrls98
Nope not nuts at all FCO is drying try olive or Avacado. You can mix them with FCO if you want.
Ann M
I use Olive, Macadamia nut and Apricot Kernal oil. They feel so wonderful together.Ann
daniedb
GSO, SAO would be good ones to offset the drying of the FCO - I like a 2:2:1 blend of GS:SA:FC.
SANDY
I use shea butter and mango butters in mine.. I like more of an emulsified scrub...
epheme
all these are good suggestions. I like almond oil b/c of the scent and how it blends with most FO/EO's. Grapeseed is expensive but nice, too. Olive is a good base b/c it's cheap and available.
Crafty1_AJ
I use shea and olive in mine, mostly. Not drying to my skin at all (and I have pretty dry skin!) In fact, scrubs make my skin feel very soft and moisturized.
Kaybee23
I like the olive oil in mine but also think that SAO would be good as well.
Michi
I use FCO and avocado, avocado is supposed to be good for aging skin, and the Lord knows I got me some of that!! LOLMine leaves me feeling like I applied lotion, ultra moisturized, it's awesome baby!!

luckygemini
I just started making a emulsified scrub a few months ago and I use shea butter, FCO, hempseed oil and avocado oil in it. I really like the feel of it makes my skin nice and soft.
