maryann
Where do you get your red? I bought some and it wasn't a true red :undecided TIA
Crafty1_AJ
I've used Dragon Lily Essential's liquid red in Cp for red swirls. They look kinda orange here, but actually they were redder. LOL

Mnhorsemom
I have used the red gel tone from BCN and it comes out a pretty close red.
Crafty1_AJ
Man, those soaps kick boo-tay!!Thanks! Actually I hadn't cleaned them up yet. It looks like I was drunk when I cut the bars -- and I don't even like booze so I don't drink. LOL
Anna
Crafty, your soap is very pretty,I wish my swirls look like that.I ordered some red oxide from From Nature With Love,Hope it works, that stuff is costly. Anna
Marisa
If those dont work for you, I love my Brick red oxide from MMS. (the picture makes the soaps look wacky, spots and pinker, but its my dumb camera the havent been trimmed yet)Anyway its the best red Ive found.. maryann
That's what I have Marisa! When I mixed it, it seemed more rust colored than red (BTW nice looking soap). I see OT's has a red, has anyone tried that?

Actually I find red oxide to be more of a rusty colored red. Earthy, like bricks ... know what I mean? If you want more of a primary kinda red, I'd recommend a liquid dye. HTH! Marisa
Thanks Maryann, i have noticed that the oils I use make a difference in a nice red. I use the light colored Olive oil and other oils otherwise it will give me the rust color. (exspecailly the darker green olive oil etc) Anyone else find that happens to you? Crafty1_AJ
Yes, I usually get more of the rusty color with my recipe too!
donna4909
I've read somewhere that mixing red oxide with pink UM will give more of a brighter true red.
Crafty1_AJ
Oooh, that sounds like a cool experiment! If someone tries this, I'd sure love to see pics of the finished soap!
