Candybee
I would be interested in learning how to make a simple cleansing oil or cleansing balm for personal use.
iansmommaya
I do. Do you want a link to the place where I started or do you want what I do now?

NightLight
Simple cleansing oil. Oil plus percentage of polysorbate 80, 20. You might have to shake a little before use because of different weights of oils and solubilizer.
eugenia
I make a simple cleansing oil. No need for poly 80 or 20. I use olive oil, rice bran oil, castor oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil. It varies by what I have on had. I massage into my face, then wet a washcloth with hot water, hold the steaming/wet towel on my face, then pat dry. My face is not greasy at all. I wear plenty of make-up and it all comes off. You can tailor the oils based on your age and skin type. I'm over 50 and dry. My skin loves cleansing oil! I use it every night.
jotn
I have been working with a cleansing balm. I prefer more of a solid consistency, as opposed to an oil. So I have been playing with Cera Bellina, Shea butter, Avocado and Organic Sunflower oils. This is really "ointment-y", I may add a little Polysorbate 20.
Shari
I have made a few over time. I currently use 70% Avocado, 9% Castor Oil, 10% PS80, 5% FCO, 1% T50 (mixed tocopherals). I like it a lot. It removes my make-up well and doesn't dry my skin out.
Candybee
Wow! I had forgotten about this thread. So many great ideas. I did start using castor oil for massaging my eyelids and moisturizing my eyes. I know its a bit off subject but I was surprised how it helped heal my eyes and eyelids when I had an eye infection recently.
