nadiadee
Hi guys! I've got a question on how you guys would price your soaps for sale and how would you list out the inventory of your product (and the ingredients of course). If someone would be able to send me a sample, it would be a great help too! I'm literally about to rip my scalp apart :C Thank you!
kandlekrazy
I'm not sure why you are trying to list out each ingredient for already made bars. My cost to sales for my taxes was already made bars. I'd just figure what a batch cost divide by number of bars I got out of that batch and then show how much I sold those bars for. If you need an inventory of raw products, that most likely would be kept separately and only done once a year.
nadiadee
Thank you for taking the time to answer! I was trying to figure something out, but I guess my soaping head go ahead of me (pun intended). Do you take overheads such as shipping etc into consideration when pricing them? All costs related to obtaining the ingredients are factored into the final product costs
Candybee
I figure my costs for my ingredients that go into making a batch of soap, then figure how much per bar. That will help me determine my prices for retail and wholesale which covers my overhead expenses like my time, manufacturing, shipping, storage, etc. Edited March 5, 2017 by Candybee
