What do you think?
SuzyK
That's silly. How in the world did that trademark even go through? Soap Loaf is what it is! Like they said it's like trademarking the word shoe. Or even loaf of bread. Craziness.
ChandlerWicks
It is silly! Wonder if a petition could actually help?
jeanie353
Someone was asleep at the wheel when that trademark went through.
cynthia3030
Well, is anybody going to sign the petition? The author raises valid points.

ktaggard
I read it, but did not sign it. I want to make sure it is legit first. I guess I'm a sceptic. I cant imagine the trademark office would allow this. The link on NG facebook starts to make it more credible. ChandlerWicks
I believe so CB. One woman is so angry she bought up any available domain names with the words soap loaf. Seems the one that trademarked the name/term/item didn't grab up the domain names. I looked at her website & can see the TM written next to soap loaf. I wonder what her reason is for only trademarking this one item, she also sells soap bars & incense cones. Are they next?I signed it for what its worth. What is this website change.org anyway? I hope they are legit because when you sign you have to leave personal info like your name, address, email. Candybee
I wonder how many names are needed to make the petition have teeth.
Candybee
Is this the soaploaf.com website you are talking about? If so, its for sale for $1,299!!http://www.soaploaf.com/
ChandlerWicks
That's what the woman said that bought all of them. Money talks! HeeHee, won't finish that phrase! When Amy Winehouse died, a man bought the domain name using her name. I never researched to see if her father was able to fight it. Is this the soaploaf.com website you are talking about? If so, its for sale for $1,299!!http://www.soaploaf.com/
Ravens
After I signed it, a window appeared showing how many more signatures are needed. When I checked it showed 195 (or was it 185?) still needed. I wonder how many names are needed to make the petition have teeth.

ChandlerWicks
Once the petition has the needed amount of signatures, a legal dispute still needs to be filed. It sounds like some of the suppliers are taking care of this. Soap by the Loaf, I think I would have a problem too if I couldn't use the words.
