  1. Okay, I'm very new to lip balm. I made this recipe and it felt great but I'm a pocket lip balm girl and it melted to easily. What can I change to make it harder but keep the moisture and nice gliding on feeling that this has. Thanks for your help. Barb
  2. They have great products and great prices. Lots of people on this board use them. Barb
  3. Everyone that has tested mine have loved the flavors I got from them. HTH Barb
  4. I have that same Sunbeam. Got it for x-mas this year and so far I love it! I'm happy to know that Kim is using it as I'm sure hers has gotten a lot more use. I was worried about how long it would last. Thanks, Barb
  5. It seems like Oils by Natures prices were better on beeswax than Columbus Foods and they are in northern Ohio so it may be worth checking
  6. Tess, All the links on the left side are working for me but the right side is not. The contact us for example, looks just like writing on the site to me. I can't click it. On the bright side the links to best seller and such are working for me It looks great, good luck and congrats on the recent order online Barb
  7. Thanks for your input! reallyappreciate it.
  8. Bunny, I would love samples too...I can paypal immediately lol. On the serious side I think it would honestly help to feel what real soap feels like. I can't do a swap because I haven'y even done one CP yet but I'm researching and having samples would greatly help when, hopefully in the near future, I do my own. Thanks for sharing all your wisdom
  9. Okay I have a few waxes that I have tested and I'm not planning to use in my containers. Is there any reason I can't just use them in the clamshells. I hate to waste the wax. But I want to make sure I'm not overlooking something. Thanks in advance for your help Thanks, Barb
  10. I'm getting Lasik so I can see the numbers on the scale I also have to finish putting last years inventory into Peachtree which I am using for this year. It looks like it's going to be a great weekend for shopping the classifieds
  11. Heather, Looks great I can only hope my first one turns out that well. Congrats!! Barb
  12. At the candle makers store are they called wick stickers? I was looking for them and I'm thinking theya re the same but you know what they say about assuming lol Thanks, Barb
  13. I think it looks great..I really like the colors and the different shapes you used on the top of the page.
  14. When I worked about 3 years ago I was an auditor in the grocery market. Every once in a while we would get some odd invoices and they would be for clothing or candles and such. Usually the mark up was only 33% to 46%. Now when I left the industry big chains (ie. Kroger, Walmart) were starting to try to make the rules more than they were letting the vendors make the rules. It was an amazing eye opener and when I started my daughter was about 3 years old. I refused to buy Gold Fish crackers because I found out how much they really cost lol Of course then I realized it's everything at the store not just the gold fish. That's my 2 cents.
  15. I just checked eBay and I think you could get a decent deal on one there. Just a little heads up Barb
  16. I was once scheduling a home party that I was hosting (like pampered chef) and the lady suggested Thursday and told me that she found it the best night. He reason was that it was right before payday and she would get lots of people writing checks and spending more than if they were paying with cash. Also because people were to busy on weekends. I have never done a candle party but her logic has stuck with me for when I do start doing parties. HTH, Barb
  17. Here is one I pulled up... http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/results.aspx?Scope=TC&Query=gift+certificate FYI they have tons of templates that are free to download. I use a lot of the free templates and justs make changes to make them my own Hope this helps! Barb
  18. Okay I know there are a million places online to order preservatives but are there any local? can we get them at the drug store or somewhere like that. I'm in the playing stages and I have bought most of my butters and oils from co-ops I don't want to place an oder just for a preservative. I realize that buying local I'd pay a bit more but it would be worth it to me. Also if anyone knows a store where I could buy lip balm tubes locally I'd love to hear about it. Thanks so much everyone! Barb
  19. Okay here's the deal....I have been on this board for about a year. I plan to have my own company and have register it but we are still in the testing stages and we just had twins so the testing may take longer than we thought. I coach a girls U11 select soccer team based in the Batavia OH area. We would like to entertain the idea of a candle fundraiser. I obviously can't make the candles and instead of going to some big name candle company I would like to use someone from this board. We'd like to do the fundraiser soon. There would be about 16 kids participating. I'd like to have someone close that I could drive to pick up the candles so that we would save on shipping. Thanks so much!!! Please PM me if you are interested and let me know your exacts.....percentage, type of candles, location and such. Thanks, Barb
  20. Those are really cute and great prices. Thanks so much for sharing! Have a great day!
