  1. I am an admin for my daughters soccer team and we always get the checks wrote to us then cut a check to the fundraiser company less our percentage. We have never gotten a 1099!!! I have had several places give me a freebie for setting up the fundraiser and that is ALWAYS nice. Those are the fundraisers I set up first
  2. How many are you looking for? Are you looking for a couple or is this something you are planning to make up and hand out? I have a couple websites written down. I'll find them and let ya know
  3. That is awesome swirls! I have a beautiful soap dish just crying for a beautiful bar soap
  4. Okay, do you have a pic? I have a place that does custom jars but it's mostly company names and logo's. You could do something in art and have it placed on the jars but I'm not sure that would work and be economical. Right now I can get Apothecary Jar w/ glass bubble lid 16 oz for $2.79 but there is a $40 screen charge and that's only one color. The $2.79 is a sale price in these. There are a few other jars also. Let me know what you are looking for and I am be able to find it. Thanks, Barb
  5. I've dumped a supplier before because that happened to me a few times. Drives me nuts!!
  6. E, As a newbie to soap, there are people that post and you ignore what they say and people that post and you hang on everything they say because you know they know what they are talking about. I always take note of what you say along with a handful of others. I say DO IT!!! Don't sell yourself short, expert maybe not lol who is, but you are very, very knowledgable and are more than qualified to do it in my book. I also think it would be great for business. I agree with Jenny, samples to hand out is the wat to go. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Barb
  7. Ends on the 30th but I could work with ya.
  8. I am running the co-op. The only other place that I could find the soaps was KY candles and the pricing was crazy! Please check out the co-op thread. We are already up to 400 lbs and it's growing. You have to order directly from SFIC if you don't order from KY and SFIC has a huge min. order. HTH, Barb
  9. You won't know until you try it. Just start with a little group. I have 15 kids on my team and only a handful participate in fundraising. Find a team of cheerleaders or some small group and start with them then work up to the big this. I've been on both sides of the fundraisers so if you have questions later feel free to contact me.
  10. As the manager of a select soccer team, I handle all of our fundraisers. If we are not going to make 50% we will not sell items. Now we do other things that we make less on but we don't sell candles, candy, anything unless we make 50%. IMO you don't need to jack up prices just for the fundraiser if you are following the correct pricing on your items. Just my thoughts though. HTH, Barb
  11. Here's a link to a place that can customize pretty much everything. I am a dealer for them so if you need more in just let me know or if you'd like to order. http://www.kbbestbuys.com/ HTH Barb
  12. Did you use refined or unrefined shea? I'm wondering about the smell coming through if I use the unrefined. Thanks for sharing your recipe! I've put it on my list to try LOL it's a long list and I just tried my first batch yesterday. My own recipe...turned out good so far. Anyway thanks for your help!
  13. So what's the word, good in soy or bad in soy? I use 100% soy and live pretty close. Actually going to be driving past there all week for soccer camp and have 3 hours to kill
  14. Well at 8% is 415 the Mulberry and the China rain didn't throw at all. I have a good melt pool and everything looks good but NO throw at all. Anyone else experiencing this with these?
  15. I poured Mulberry, Extra Spicey spice cookie, Vanilla Buttercream Crunch and China Rain last night. The cold throw is great. They are all in the kitchen and the Vanilla Buttercream crunch and cookie and smelling up my house (nice mix....butterscotch spice cookie....hummmmm lol) anyway. I'm going to light at least one later tonight.
  16. It would be helpful to know where you are located and do you have a website?? Thanks, Barb
  17. AWE does it. When you go in their store they are selling candles but if you ask and online they are a supplier. So they do both.
  18. interesting...I used cocoa butter everyday and drank tons of water. I have TONS and TONS of stretch marks. Of course the twins were 7lbs 10 ozs and 6lbs 4 ozs. That's a lot of baby and each had their own water and such.
  19. Steve has some good prices if you need a lot http://www.thecandlemakersstore.com/category/labels.white/ They also have different colors, like kraft. HTH, Barb
  20. eBay has some but it's a 5 foot section. Just a thought!
  21. Hey I think I can answer these. I've been looking at my lye (I bought it from you) and I think it's going to make soap this weekend Anyway, I've been reading and reading. Yes you can use the pringles can and no need to wrap it in anything. Now there was a post about one bad experience with the can not holding up but there were tons of people posting that they had used them and never had problems. It will hold a little less than 2 pounds. Good luck! Barb
  22. Sue Ann I told DH about all the samples you order and now my 30 don't seem so bad I think I'm out of the dog house thanks to you. I hope you enjoy them and please let us know what you love. What kind of wax do you use? Barb
  23. I ordered my 30 samples yesterday afternoon and this morning at about 9:00 they were here So I'm going to do lots of testing as this was my first order from Becky. If I like them I'm thinking Co-op as I live about 2 hours from her but my dad lives about 45 minutes and I'm at his house about once a week. So how's the testing going? Anyone got feedback good or bad? Barb
  24. I have tried mango from a couple different places and Columbus foods seems to have a good quality butter at great prices if you can buy in bulk, hence the co-op. It seems that someone will run a co-op from them at least once every couple months. Let me know if you want to try some. Thanks, Barb
  25. I PM'd you We use photoshop for all of our designs. If you know what you want then IMO it's easier to create it than to try and find it already made. The hard part is coming up with what you want, once you know what you want then creating it isn't as hard as most people think.
