  1. I do not care for the spigot either. It is just as easy to ladle.
  2. Swirl pillar candles are pillars that have two or more colors. The colors appear to be “swirled” together, hence their name! You’ll need to melt your candle wax in separate double boilers (or whatever you use to melt your candle wax). Measure enough wax to fill the pillar mold, and then place half in one melting pot and half in the other. Melt only one section at a time to the desired temperature, and then mix in the dye. Then and add your fragrance, if you’re using a fragrance, just before it’s time to pour the wax into the mold. Pour in your first color of wax and allow it just enough time to get a thick skin across the top, but not enough time to completely harden. As the first half of your candle is starting to set up, begin melting your second half of candle wax. Add your dye and fragrance, and slowly pour over the first color in your candle mold. If you want the colors to have the swirling effect, use a knitting needle or similar object and carefully pull it through in a circular motion to distribute the colors throughout the candle to create the swirl look. Found this on the web

  5. It's getting near that time of year again!! Holiday overload = Squashed packages!! UPS delivered my wax today - the boxes were all over the truck. Asked him what happened. He said someone stacked the wax on the top shelf and they fell off!! Guess what was on the floor of the truck.. A big screen TV. Box looked a little smashed. Another one of my cases of wax was on a box that said. Fragile/Glass. Someone receiving these items will not be happy today.
  6. Welcome Florida!! A great place to live for sure!! Starter kits are they way I started as a poster suggested!!
  7. The reformulated Monkey Fart is incredible!!! Try that one too!!
  8. Even if I could get the date off, I really don't want to have to go that route. Why the heck can't the just put the stamp in a place where no one will see it. Like on the neck or bottom?? Why the heck put it in the middle of the jar where it interferes with labeling? What where they thinking?? Or maybe they were not thinking or caring how it affects their customers??? It would be like Fruit of the Loom putting their tag on the front and in the middle of your underwear or shirts!.. Who wants to see that!! KWIM??? http://agcc.com/view/18 Contact information to call or email. I have contacted them and they are aware of the problem this causes with candle-makers, but said they have not reconsidered the placement of the stamp because of the food industry. Seems to me they don't care about their candle customers!!
  9. Check your local supermarkets. They have them and will order them for you if you need them.
  10. The food industry does not like the code on the bottom because it interferes with the code that they stamp on the jar. So Arkansas decided to put it in the middle. On my new order of jars, the stamp is now bigger and up higher so it is harder to cover it up with my label.. I will post pictures soon. Most jars do have mold seams, what jar do you use Iwantitgreen.. I think I may switch to your seamless jar!! It would make my life easier at this point. :0
  11. I quit using JS's when it went up to almost $20.00 a pound. I do have a sample of MC's now and can't wait to get it into my wax! OOB it smells different than JS's, not as sugary sweet so I would say it's not a dupe OOB. But boy.. Does it smell good!! I will post how it compares to JS's once I get it into my wax.
  12. The ISO 22000 Certification is a food safety plan they are implementing. http://www.iso.org/iso/pressrelease.htm?refid=Ref1291 Dating the jars will help them to identify the production date of a container. That is great for the food industry but not the candle industry. *** You don't have to order from Arkansas Glass to have this problem. If your supplier uses their jars, which many do, you will have the stamp on your jars!! Check with your current jar supplier to see if they use AGC. (Arkansas Glass Company)
  13. I found out AGC (Arkansas Glass Company ) is now stamping all their jars with a date stamp. This black stamp will be in the middle of the jars!! Which is very noticeable. It is not on the bottom where it can't be seen, but in the middle of the Jar where all your customers can see it! You can cover them up with a label, but sometimes the stamp is on the seam of your jar. So to cover it up, you have to place your label over the seam of your jar. Heads up Arkansas Glass Users.:tiptoe: If you haven't seen the stamp yet, you will!!!
  14. Mistletoe is a big seller around the Holidays. If you can stand to pour it or can grow used to the aroma, it could be a big seller for you. BNB - I used to sell that one and the scent was nice not smokey. Maybe it was reformulated and the Bread got burnt? BNB kinda fizzled out in my area and is not a big seller anymore. Or maybe my customers thought is smelled Smokey?
  15. Yes...C-3 can bubble like a glass of champagne. Somtimes pouring slower can help with the elimination of some of the "Bubbles".
