  1. I have read that some inventory and some don't at the end of the year. Would the only difference be that the deductions count for the year your in and you can't carry the supplies over to the next? I am curios as to why some inventory and some don't. What would the advantages be at tax time. Tax time is crazy and any info is helpful to me also.
  2. Why does it bother you so much that I post my opinion?? You feel I need to be a customer to post on this thread.. Really?? HA SOME of you who use him are so loyal trying to defend his actions, that you can't even see thru his BS. And... I do feel sorry for those of you he left without oils. It is very unprofessional and just wrong!
  3. SLAM...Hear it...... He just slammed that door shut and is not looking back. Yeah....Nice honest man he is.. He will pick a select client base, I guess they be the ones that will keep his secret. Can't break that non compete contract he signed. HA! I would love to hear if anyone one here is one of his "Chosen Select Client Base." Did he really say, he will be underground!! LMAO.. He is going into hiding from all the PO customers he left hanging!!santa roll * This post was not Personally directed at you CraftCandles . Just a statement in regards to his treatment and how is a scammed you all who trusted him and stuck by him!!
  4. Are you spongebob??

  5. If I can choose another form of payment other than paypal, I will. I will only use paypal when that is the only form of payment they offer. I have also not ordered from site that only accept paypal because I was hacked when using paypal a few years ago.
  6. I an thankful I did not deal with him. I am not bashing, just stating the obvious.
  7. Nope, never ordered from him. He seemed shady to me from the beginning. I am sure he was nice, most scam artist are. You say you are suspect.. Follow your gut instinct then. It usually is right.
  8. I highly doubt he sold his business.. He has only been in biz 8 months. What did he do with the warehouse he told you he was building and would be completed. When I said he shut the door, I meant his business, websites, ebay.. Poof the dude is gone. He got his $$ selling his overstock and discounted oils to you and is running... I don't believe he manufactured them at all. He says he manufactures all of his 3000 oils, then I guess he will be manufacturing them for the PR buyer?? Really.. What did he sell, his business name or his soul. If he manufactures oils, then why not just sell the oils he makes to the buyer in PR (Of all places). Why would he have to sell his business name.. He could just sell them his oils??? Right?? Having a non-compete agreement would only hurt his so called manufacturing business. If he indeed manufactured oils, he could be a supplier to all the US candle companies. Why sell out?? Makes no sense at all if you really think about it. There are way to many holes in this story of his. I think it is all BS!! I hate seeing people being taken advantage of.
  9. I just don't get it ????? He promised you the world (Lies), then shuts the door in your face yet you still want to hunt him down to buy his oils and give him your money??? :tiptoe:
  10. Candlescience has the best customer service around!! They are reliable and helpful and always have their products in stock!!
  11. Louis sounds a scam artist. Very easy to say he sold to PR so he does not have to give you an explanation. IMO he took your money on false advertising saying he had a factory and manufactures the oils. FALSE ADVERTISING.. Isn't their laws regarding this??? Any reputable company that cares about their customers does not just close their doors especially since said he was building a factory. Did the factory he built move to PR too!! I would check to see if his business is even registered in the state of Georgia. If you do not get your oils and money back, I would file with the attorney Generals office. Call his work number at the Real Estate office and follow up with him. Hundreds of calls to his office ought to smoke out the real Louis!! I would not give this man another dime of my money!! Walk always while you can..:tiptoe:
  12. Make sure the name you pick also has an open domain. Get the website domain and park it if you have to. That way you don't name you company and later on not be able to get the website name to go with it. Here is a site to check and see if the domain name you want is taken. http://instantdomainsearch.com/ Below is a link that may help you check and register you name with your state. http://www.sba.gov/content/register-your-fictitious-or-doing-business-dba-name/ Also ~ After you choose a name, Google it to make sure there is not a name that is similar or close to your name or website. You don't want others to confuse your company with another company that has a similar name. HTH and Good Luck...
  13. I use the EZ Wick Setter from Candlescience To center my wicks perfectly and attach the stickum. Per CS website: The EZ wick setter is the fastest and easiest way to wick your containers. Improve the appearance and safety of your candles by ensuring the wick is perfectly centered every time. A single candle maker using the EZ wick setter along with our Wick Stickums can easily wick dozens of containers an hour. There is not right or wrong here. It is all a matter of preference. Just thought I would give you a simpler option. Which is also safe I might add. I would never compromise safety as others have pointed out.
  14. NOTHING, not even silicone is 100% safe. Stickums are just as safe as using the silicone. It's a matter of preference. I have fully tested both. My tests show the stickums are as safe as the silicone. I was also refferring to 98% of the time sticking to the jar before pouring. That is why I said to hit the jar with a heat gun. I have yet to have a candle wick float when burning while using a stickum? I have been making candles for over 10 years. How many have you had float Stella? Really curious how intensively you tested the stickums?
  15. Hit your jars with the heat gun before apply the wick stickum. It helps with adhesion. Somethime the jars could have a film or even be wet due to humidity which could lead to the stickum not sticking. 98% of the time the stickems work perfectly, Plus they are easy to use and not a PITA, IMO. Especially when you have lots of jars to wick. If you are only making a few candles, then using hot glue or permatex is fine. But making candles in large batches, the Permatex and hot glue is a ROYAL PITA!! LOl
  16. Below is a wonderful link to help explain how fundraisers work and maybe give you some guidance and help with pricing and profit. There are also sheets you may use for your order forms and tally's that you can print out. Fundraisers can be very profitable for you business, you just need to get you prices and profits figured out. Good Luck!! http://www.candlecauldron.com/fundraisers.html
  17. Yes.. It has bubblegum... Try it, you will like it.. The new reformulated version is even better IMO. Thanks ICS for noting it is reformulated and just not changing it out on us!! I sooo appreciate it when a supplier lets us know that the oil has been reformulated.
  18. NG Vs ICS - NG has more of a citrus pineapple scent to it. ICS is sweeter and fruity with the citrus scent being on the lighter side. But it is a close dupe.. And I am sure you can get away with the switch. I personally LOVE ICS Fart and so do my customers. If you switch to ICS and your customers notice a little change in the scent throw, just tell them the Monkey had a change in diet and is eating sweeter fruits!! LOL Farts never smell the same IMO anyway!! :tiptoe:
  19. I switched from NG to ICS's Monkey fart. ICS has an extremely-strong fruity flavored Fart!!!
  20. When I first started and made small batches, I would use a Dixie bathroom cup to pour my oil in. Simple and disposable. Don't use the hard white plastic ones, you oil will eat right thro those. As I have grown, I use my pour pot as others have mentioned.
  21. It smells like the fake imitation bacon in the jar. Strong scent throw but gross.. Blech!!
  22. First it was for gifts, then it grew into friends wanting my candles, then started selling them to earn a little extra money.
  23. Bitter Creek North... Yes. This time they really stuck good.
