  1. forgot to say, some FOs exist: strawberry, lemon, apple, vanilla, rose. 1 oz costs approx. 7$ us dollars.
  2. ehm... A very poor eo, the fact is that FOs for candlemaking in Italy don't exist. I have to buy them In UK, shipping cost raises the total cost!!!
  3. Some of them are chunkies, this is a great help to hold embeds in place. Thanks Donita! as always pics could be not so nice, forgive me!!! Thanks for looking
  4. oh no, now I want to marble. very beautiful candles, amazing as always!!!
  5. Thanks, I experimented with a little mold and an essential oil, once in straight paraffin and once in a blend paraffin/stearin. Here in Italy it's common to say that to make candles stearin must be added in 10%-20% to paraffin, so I suppose that wax I buy is made this way. From what I read here there's too much stearin. On monday I'll get 20 lbs of straight paraffin, so I will try again. Thanks for all, maybe one day we will mottle together!!!!!
  6. Hi all, I know that about mottilng millions of post were written, but I don't mottle. My cats don't mottle, my candles don't mottle. Try walking in my shoes, please. I can only buy straight paraffin with unknown MP. Or a mix of paraffin + stearin (percentage are unknown) with high MP. Or even a mix of paraffin + stearin (percentage are unknown) with unknown MP. The first FOs are arrived from UK, I spent a lot of money, If I have to put an entire bottle of FO in wax I'd better shoot myself!! Also, I don't know how much FO can retain the wax I have. What will you do in this case???? heeeeellllllllllllppppppppppppppppppppppppp
  7. Hi, does anyone knows something about this FO? How is it suppose to smell? I searched the internet, but I did not find it!!! TIA
  8. with paintings? I have a book a very very poor book compared to all I learned here, but in this book the autor says that with medium and acrylic colors you can paint the candle, I've never tryed, I wonder what happens when you light the candle!
  9. Thanks Margaritamama but I think silver it's impossible!!! I like burgundy!!
  10. many thanks!!! I think I cannot have a pewter color... if I understood what is it (sorry I'm italian) but others are nice!
  11. Thanks TopOfMurrayHill, but reading that thread is almost useless!!! I mean, almost all colors were named!! the FO I'm going to use is Christmas Wish, but I think it does not make difference.. Thanks!! I realized just now that Christmas Wish is a proprietary FO of the Yankee Candle Company, its description is: Santa's favorite - the scent of fresh balsam and warm vanilla cookies sprinkled with sugar sparkles.
  12. Hi all, I have to make some pillars inspirated to christmas.. I was thinking to choose some "christmassy" colors, but my little brain doesn't go beyond red, white and green. What other colors would you choose? thanks!
  13. Hi Mozzie, I have not yet that aluminium mold, I made with my polycarbonate mold. Thank you very much!!
  14. Thanks to all for your advices, the past evening at home I made some test and calculation. I came up with 8 molds I can fill at the same time. The amount of wax is about 900 grams, the average cost per candle (excluding colors and FOs that are very small quantity) is 0,50 - 0,60 euros including trasparent little bags (I can buy 100 bags at 6 euros). This morning I will call this lady, if she agree paying 1,50 each I'll accept the order. It is a lot of work, but I intend to do it, hoping not to fall sick and having to stop pouring!!! For labels I don't know what we will do, she doesn't mind if her shop's name is on the label or not. Call me stupid, but I think it is an opportunity. Kisses
  15. hi Top and Donita, sorry but my poor english doesn't let me understand what you're talking about!! But I love you anyway!!
  16. they are visible.. and look good! I'm not interested in jars, i love pillars, maybe i could think to votives.. uhmm:rolleyes2
  17. eh eh eh a mutant candle!! You are the only one in all the world!! Ok, I'll come back this evening to see your pics!!
  18. Thanks! It's funny, my favorite is the hexagon:rolleyes2
  19. wow Katinka what a beautiful invisible candle!!! I'm just joking, can't wait to see what you do! Sabrina
  20. sorry, I've never heard of private labelling. So I don't know what is and how should be managed. oh what a mess!!!
  21. Thanks Lorrie, labels will carry my name and address and her shop's name. I forgot to say that this lady keeps in her shop a basket with firestarters and some candles I made, she let me sell those and she asked for nothing. That's why I tend to say her yes! But as you say I will underline the fact that is just only a one time deal. Thanks so much for all the clever things you made me think about!! and sorry for my english
  22. Thanks Lorrie, you are right, I calculated that thecost for a small candle will be about 0,50-0,60 euros. without packaging and no taking care of the time I'll use, but I don't think it will take much time to do one.. so the worst that could happen is I will only cover my cost, but I was thinking about this as a way to advertise. Anyway, this evening at home I'll do some math! and a little test of what can come out of a mold with about 5oz of wax..:rolleyes2
  23. Hi Chris, I thought votives would be perfect at this time, but I don't do votives!! And it's not the moment to experiment!! I'm just starting now to sell my candles, this could be a good way to let people know I exist. As Katinka says, I will not earn a lot of money but maybe this helps for the future!!
