  1. Yes, I saw that! I can't imagine...
  2. I believe (if I figured it correctly on the handy-dandy online conversion link Stella gave us) that you're only at less than 5% on FO. You may not get much HT. What FO? & what's the inside diameter of your jar?
  3. It's too early to tell, I think. Do you use anything to keep your wicks centered?
  4. to my serrated cutter...it's my favorite part of this, lol. Very therapeutic...
  5. I found those melts.... is that a ton of frost? I wonder what her "secret" is.....
  6. Except she got her kit at Moonglow & it's showing all their soy wax to be in pellet form. ($16 for 5lbs!)
  7. Keep notes of everything you do! lol.. If the candle works, then you'll know how to repeat it. If it doesn't work, then you have to figure out what element of the process to alter. You may have to pour hotter or cooler, heat it up higher, cool slower, etc. And when you come here in a panic for "Help!", as we've all done, you'll have to list all your steps. HTH!
  8. Is this the type of thing that you can use in these? http://www.candlesandsupplies.net/Closeouts-Specials/BOGO & when you use glitter, is it the candle kind you use on pillars?
  9. Be sure to post all the info: wax, temp. to which you heated, temp you poured, how much FO, how you cooled, inside diameter of container, etc. Where did you get the wax from? I forget..Moonworks? oops, Moonglow?
  10. Is that Candlesandsupplies? If that's what you use, that's what I want; shipping be damned! lol. PA to IN should be okay.
  11. As far as lather goes, what are your top choices for base? I'm using Brambleberry base & was getting ready to get some from Peak, but the ingredient list is exactly the same as BB. I've got the liquid soap also; what's the most you can add? Sorry for the hi-jack..
  12. Thank goodness! I thought I was the only one, lol. Have you looked at Zazzle?
  13. So, what are the do's & don'ts of what to put in them? Anything as long as you remove it before melting? I don't see anything that says to remove before melting? For the ones that have big things shoved down in there, doesn't that reduce the amount of wax in the clam? I'm trying to weigh the visual appeal vs. practicality. They are attention-getting though..
  14. I think it's 18 for soy & 20 for paraffin?
  15. Melts last night. Dragon's Blood, Honey Gingerbread, Maple Butter. Testing Frosted Orange Danish melt right now- Yum...
  16. I use one of the small tins for the wax I can't use for a melt. Then I use it on a warmer.
  17. That would be Miss CandyBee & now that you mention it, that's a great idea!
  18. You might ask her try burning them in a different location in her house. If I burn one in my kitchen, I get next to nothing. Put it in the living room, much better. Guess it's the air flow? It's worth a shot.

    Big Oops

I was able to salvage it, lol. And my 1st batch, covered properly, lol:
  20. Pumpkin Souffle, Creme Brulee, Spiced Pear, Sweet Pumpkin Spice
  21. This may help- http://www.nuscentscandle.com/candle-making-faq.html
  22. I actually did reply with a link from NCA. They replied back that they just go by what the manufacturers of the containers tell them. And that they understood if all manufacturers did not go through the certification since it can be "quite costly".
  23. If you do a search here for Millenium, that may find you some tips.
