  1. I just bought some starburst palm from Peaks. Can't wait to play with it. Could someone suggest wicks for votives??
  2. For those that make incense, do you mix 1 part f/o to 2 parts dpg or 50/50? I'm wondering if 50/50 will be too strong. Most of the recommedations I see are for 1 part f/o to 2-3 parts dpg.

Would this be a good wax for wickless candles? I can get it locally so it sure would be nice to save on shipping. I'm testing blending it with my votive wax for my tarts right now. Pouring the first batch. I did 3 parts votive wax to 1 part 4627. Any input would be appreciated.
  4. What a piece of work!! I have found over the years that when someone feels the need to talk down another vendor, it's because they cannot earn the business with the quality of their own product. It's hard dealing with people like that. I would personally want to go kick it, but I'm going going through menopause and the dr. gave me a steroid shot the other day!!! I'm ready to take on the world. Seriously, if you've been doing this market for quite some time, you've established a strong customer base. Don't forget about them. They may not want or be able to make the drive to the other venue. If you are going to try the other market, for sure, keep your current location until you see how the return is at the new spot. focus on your customers, not the a##hole. Good luck.
  5. That was my thought. I'll just purchase another presto pot instead.
  6. Each of you are officially on my list !!! I could be adding yet another supplier..... I ordered raspberry patchouli, celtic myst, scarlet moon, gypsy rose. I'll try re next time I order from them. Thanks and have a great thanksgiving!!
  7. I used to get this oil from Tradewinds. Anybody know where I might find this oil? Not a dupe of TW. I did find Texas Candle Supply has it, but to be honest, I've never even heard of them.
  8. So, do you use this instead of the presto pot? I read it has a swing out drain valve. Could that be used for a pour spout or do you add a spout to it?
  9. Now I'm confused. Did you buy the jars through the tc site, which still has some active buy buttons, or through aaa? I've placed my 2nd order for jars with aaa. The first time took a week, the second time took 2 days. I will add that if Taylored is done, he should not have any active links to purchase products on his site. That's just my opinion.
  10. Ok, so I was just poking around on a big suppliers website. They have all kinds of candlemaking instructions. I was reading about making palm pillars and NO WHERE did it say anything about how to eliminate voids in the candles. I was surprised by this. I'm assuming that palm wax candles form voids as they cool. Am I wrong?
  11. Ok, well, she carries wax. Not sure if it's gl or jbn wax, but I'm sure she would tell you. I do know that gl got their wax from a company in dallas called Clarus. The guy to speak with is Brad.
  12. Greenleaf did go out of business, unfortunately. Then Just by Nature, who was related somehow, took on their products. Then they closed. Go to Southwest Candle Supply. She used to work for JBN and has the oils from greenleaf. I have not ordered from her yet, but will be soon. I have a customer that cannot live without GL Grapefruit Watermelon.
  13. I've got htp's coming from candlewic. Zinc on hand so I'll give it a shot. Thanks
  14. they are just under 3" in diameter.
  15. OK, I'm going to start testing this wax in my salsa jars. I can't find all the notes I took down on a starting part for wicking. I remember htp but not the size. Thanks for your suggestions in advance.
  16. Does anyone use this wax? It's a votive pillar blend with a melt point of 140 or so. I can get this locally, so it's tempting. Any feedback would be appreciated.
  17. OK, I'm totally bummed tonight. I have not ordered from my candle crock supplier in over 18 months. I tried to log into the wholesale side of their site but could not remember my p/w. So I emailed her for the info. She replied tonight saying she closed the business in June. OK, but now I want to know why you can still order from the retail side of the site. I placed several items in the cart, went all the way through to paypal and it's working. Now, I did not submit the order but the whole process was working. I need to find someone that does pint size crocks with animals on them. She used some kind of decals. Anyone have any connections??
  18. How do you make pillars like this?? They are absolutely beautiful!!
  19. Endicia is a way for the shipper to print the postage. We use it in the warehouse I work at. The packages still go directly from our warehouse to the usps, but the program we use for printing postage is endicia.
  20. I'm pretty sure she is a member on the board
  21. I almost always get that at shows. I already have a 3 jar discount, so I don't budge on that. I also used to get it in my store as well. That was frustrating to me. I had one customer gasp over my prices, (which were not high) and said he could get the same size candle at WalMart for xxx amount. This was during christmas and there were quite a few people in the store. I politely looked at him and gave him directions to Walmart from my location. He was at a loss for words and I'm sure quite embarassed because a few of the people in the store started laughing. They told me good job and not to be intimidated by people like him. Looking back, it was priceless!!
  22. That would be so great!!! I miss Indian Summer and so do my customers.
  23. Does anyone use these oil burners? Wanting to know your likes and dislikes. They are having a mix and match sale and am thinking about purchasing some. I wish they had more of the basic candlewarmer colors in stock.
  24. I had the same thing happen but with taylored concepts. Everything was different,,,,,texture, melt time(in the pot), the way it released (or not) from the votive molds. He said nothing had changed, but I know that was not true. He did this once before but then brought in the original wax and replaced what I had purchased. He's no longer in business and I've been on the hunt. My 143 paraffin from RE will be here today. I also ordered the para/soy votive tart wax to try out. I hate that I will have to pay shipping but I sell way too many votives. I never liked the 4794 and that's really alll that's available to me locally.
