  1. I know they are on sale right now. I just get overwhelmed sometimes with all the different scents. I just wanted some help. LOL.
  2. I have tried a lot of scents but I was wondering what every one here likes from Candle Science. I want to get some more scents but I do not know what to get. Any help or ideas would really be appreciated.
  3. You probalbey already answered my question. I don't have the time right now to read. I have always wanted to do the farmers market thing to sell my candles but, I live in Oklahoma and It gets hot so fast here I was curious do your candles melt ? At the market I mean.
  4. I want to say so much but do not have the time right now. I will say this. When I started candle making years ago I got a whole lot of books on the subject. I had lots of books tell me to use just a little Crayola crayons to color my wax. Did not work for me. I use the blocks of color. The wax looked pretty but I did not get a good burn on the candle.
  5. I really want to use the scent Cotton Candy from Candle Science. I have had it for a while I just can not come up with a color. I was thinking on a layered candle but that would require spacing out some scent and it is only a sample bottle. 1 ounce. Smells great.
  6. My only warning is keep an eye on what is going on on your site. I found out that mine got hacked and I do not know a whole lot about computers so I am UGH. Do not go to green country candles I have it down for now till I figure out what is going on.
  7. I am doing some more candles this morning in the scent Dragon's Blood. It is a strong scent I have already done it in a red I was looking for some other suggestions on what other colors I should try? I have not ever seen a Dragon so I can only use my imagination on what color his blood might be. LOL
  8. I have never seen a dropper either. I just measure using a shot glass.
  9. Let me know how they are with the scent throw.
  10. Lone Star is who I use to get my wax and some of my scents. Candle Wic is where I get my wicks and I have got some sample scents from Candle Science. I buy the wax in bulk and some of my scents in bulk. You just need to test to find out what works good for you. Good luck to you and remember this wax preforms differently for everyone. I use mainly Soy, Vegetable and Bees wax. Just have fun.
  11. Yuck. No offense I think women should breast feed but, when it comes to soap I will stick with your goat mild soap.
  12. I use the Soy wax also. I also use the EcoSoya CB-135. I use just plain canning mason jars 8oz. I use the 2002 wicks from candle wick (Square braided). I will tell you this frosting is natural there is probably nothing you can do about it. Wax has attitude I have found that out. I depends on the scent you use. I will say this NO Crayons to color. I read in one of my books I got when I first started making candles and I could not get a good burn.
  13. It is hard to find a great scent throw. I personally have found from our local hobby store. Spiced Apple scent is amazing. The Ocean Breeze is great too. The name on the product is Crafty Candles. I use Soy wax also. It is good to know some of Candle Science scents work well. I get a lot of my scents from Lonestar. I use the EcoSoya pillar wax. That is for all my votive candles and pillars.
  14. Hello Lisa I do not know what to say. All the advice you have got on this forum is good. I will say that any kind of wax you chose to use weather it is pillar or container has a attitude. I am just saying once you think you have the right wic for the scent something is different. Good luck to you. Take lots of notes. I hope you have a whole lot of fun.
  15. At least I know I am not alone. Candle making is hard. I think like I said Soy wax or any wax for that matter has attitude. Every time I think I have the wicks figured out and the scent, color something happens. I know you want it to be perfect. ( I am a perfectionist ) I personally gave up when it comes to candles and just tell everyone frosting is a normal thing with wax.
  16. What color should I make this in candles? I was wondering if any one else has tried this scent and what color they used ?
  17. I feel your pain on the frosting thing when it comes to Soy wax. I remember thinking I was doing something wrong. Temp ect..... I did not know. I just accepted the fact that is what Soy based wax does. I use the Ecosoya CB-135 It does not frost as bad but do not listen to me I have found out all wax has a attitude of its own. I have been doing this for years when I think of all the wicks and time I wasted thinking that it was my fault. It makes me sick. Good luck to you.
  18. I have heard of adding Coconut oil also. I personally have never used it. I make Soy candles and they like to see frosting on it. At first I use to remelt and do them over. I gave up. It just happens with Soy wax. I put on (my web site) all of my candles might have some frosting on it this is normal happens when you use this wax. Forgot to say Candle wax has attitude so I am still learning. It depends on the weather and everything. Just when I think I have it all figured out some thing happens.
  19. A kit is a great idea. I just jumped right in. I wanted to make a career out of making candles. I use Soy as my wax. I also use Bee's wax for my taper candles. I have not made any lately from Bees wax. That is the best advice READ READ READ. I have several books on the subject.
  20. I weigh the wax be for I melt the wax. It also depends on the scent on how much I use. You are always learning when it comes to candle making.
  21. I use the C-3 and the CB-135 wax and the scents I got was Dragons Blood, Lemon Verbena, English garden, Blackberry marmalade, Cotton candy, Cake, Sage and Pomegranate, Blueberry cheese cake, Christmas Tree, Drakkar type, Caribbean Teakwood. and there is a lot more but I have only tested the Dragon's blood scent and the lemon verbena and they don't burn as well as I would like so I was wondering If any one else has had this issue. I really like their scents I will just go lighter on them If I have too.
  22. I make candles and just got a bunch of the scents. I was wondering if any one else has used their scents so far the scents I have used has not burned good so I am thinking maybe I should use less scent than normal. My question is has anyone else had this dilemma? The scents smell GREAT.
  23. That scent is strong I only used half of what I would normally use and I coughed when I pulled it of the double boiler. I am using C-3 container wax flake. It is a Vegetable wax.
  24. I got the scent from Candle Science I have had issues with a scent being strong and not getting a good burn in my candles and I take a whole lot of pride in the way the candle burns. I have not used this company be for. I am looking forward to my scents getting here.
  25. I want to try this scent first with the Vegetable wax I have and just wondering if any one else has tried the scent. I know some scents you use less than it calls for.
