  1. Lonestar has GG also, and they recommend Eco wicks for best results. I don't recall anyone on this board posting about using Ecos with GG. I'll be testing GG this month. Any thoughts about Ecos? Does anyone know if Lonestar GG is as good as Peak's?
  2. Ocean, I love my HTP wicks in 4627 paraffin. I'm burning a 1312 right now and it's a super clean burn, whereas the 126 was bit smokey in this jar which is unusual. These work great in 6006 parasoy too. It's key to let the paraffin cure for a couple of days first though, and that prevents all kinds of problems... once you pick the right size wick.
  3. OG, that looks fabulous! I was at Lowe's the other day looking at salts, but didn't see any with big enough crystals in the water softening or pool supply aisles. Where could I buy those locally?
  4. Ravens! :-) I'm delighted to see you! You're right, your not the crumby type. Lol
  5. Chappy, I'm so glad your dog has a loving home! Mama dogs don't even wean their pups until seven or eight weeks, so many breeders consider six weeks too young, but five??? Wow! Thank God your dog has you in his life.
  6. Thanks for your review, pc. I'm planning to do gg palm and woodwicks for Spring. I wonder if their boast that those FO's are strong in soy has any merit. I'm sceptical.
  7. Thanks, CB. It's annoying that a big company like LS wouldn't make it their top priority to have the very best FO's. I'd rather them have a few great ones than a bazillion mediocre ones.
  8. I've always heard that LS FO's are generally nothing special, at best, with a few exceptions. I wonder if this new lineup of 18 scents is any better, and I hope so! They're a great location for me to order from. I'm intrigued by some of these FO names, like Lavender Poundcake, Coriander Rosewood, and Sugared Cronut, etc. Has anyone smelled these IN WAX yet? http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/newitems.html?page=1
  9. How pretty this candle line is! These are the same tumblers except the glass walls are colored too. http://m.zgallerie.com/p-14646-glow-candle.aspx I don't know if they bought the glasses colored like that or not The Libbey glass catalogue has a section on glass decorating techniques, and the colored glasses have been sprayed with glass paint. Michael's has the Martha Stewart glass paints and her spray kit.
  10. Thanks! I can't wait to read it and try it.
  11. Se, try putting "Pelipa Rosalinde" in search. Try also searching these words from the title I named the page, "effective anti-aging."
  12. Yes! I'm going to get several of these going in my house. And the money I save on heat can go to buy craft supplies.
  13. Oh, gosh, I just remembered: I met a chandler who had her own brick 'n mortar shop where she made candles behind the counter, and she demonstrated how she cooled her wax by holding two pitchers, one in each hand, and pouring the wax back and forth between the two pitchers.
  14. puma, I love the way they add a dash of color to a white candle, and a bit of zing if you pour a color that contrasts with the glass base.
  15. I sure hope it's doable for me, I love what I've been learning online so far. How wonderful to have your own honey and beeswax!
  16. Now we really can prove to our customers that candles can save them a lot of money! There are more DIY candle/flower pot space heaters on YouTube, as it's a hot trend right now, along with the DIY Rocket Stoves that can be made by stacking a few cinderblocks or bricks...but I digress... You can keep your room in the toasty 80's w/ this thing!
  17. I used my Creme Brulee wax in another test so these pics are the end of the first three-hour burn session with Cajun's Christmas Memories 6%. Since I poured to 3/4" below the rim for a nice deep heat sink, I'm happy with the HTP 105's performance in this jar. It looks freakin' awesome for a tester made from melted down extras. And the tapered top does fling the HT across the room. :-)
  18. Candybee, you can raise funds for supplies on a crowd-funding website that leans towards small businesses. Google for the best crowd-funding site. If you set up a page requesting funds, let us know so whoever wants to can kick in a dollar or two for your business.
  19. Good question, ya'll; I have no idea, but I need to buy or make some. I think we can print on them so they become the label. I'm starting with an HTP 105 in 4627 w/ 6% Cajun's Creme Brulee...but all waxes are welcome on this thread.
  20. Lol de nada. I'm going to add the Tria Laser too, because even though I don't own one, I know for a fact that thing works and probably would have speeded my results if I'd had one. I used the Alpha Hydrox cream at night, and after it soaks in you can put coconut oil or vitamin E cream over it for more moisture. You skin will need two weeks to adjust to it, and you may fear it's aging you, and then suddenly...VOILA you look younger!!! If 10% Alpha Hydrox is too irritating for you at first, drop down to the 8% cream.
  21. I pasted everything I used onto a new Pintereet page about anti-aging I don't know how to link to a Pinterest page, please see if you can find it on my account. My Nom de Pinterest is Pelipa Rosalinde. Lol
  22. I'm so excited about these adorable colored tumblers I picked up at Wallyworld tonight for less than $6.00. With a discounted Walmart gift card from GiftCardGranny.com they would have been even cheaper. Gonna test these puppies, anyone want to join me? :-) I'm hoping the narrowing slant at the top will help propel the HT. I'll use clear plastic circles with a wick hole sitting on the wax as "lids" I guess, unless there's a better idea. http://mobile.walmart.com/ip/Libbey-Glass-4-Piece-Cabos-Colors-Dof-Set/36188300
