  1. I keep reading about all this expensive testing you all have to do, & it's very daunting! & discouraging in terms of cost. Can't I just follow the directions on Candlescience & get good results? I thought the whole purpose of that wonderful website was that they do all the testing so the chandlers don't have to, unless they want to, of course.
  2. Stella 1952: I really love your concern about safe candle design & all your important safety tips. Thank you! I had no idea candles could become dangerous torches until I started reading here. Many times I've slept all night with candles burning, how ignorant of me! But, you're right that customers can't be trusted to burn candles safely.
  3. Thanks, brudil18! I feel better about ordering it now. It's so expensive now, though.
  4. I'm new to candle making, & if I'd based my decision of which wax to use solely on what Candlescience says about 464, I'd have started with it too. They really push it to beginners, saying it has the best throw & is their "most consistent" soy wax & easy to use. I almost ordered it on the spot. I thank God that I kept Googling 464 & reading all the comments about the many problems chandlers have with it, especially the newbies. Now I plan to start with Ecosoya CB Excel for soy, & Glass Glow for palm. In fact, the palm seems much easier to work with than soy, & since I live in a hot humid area, I've decided not to start with soy, especially with Spring around the corner. So I guess the vets mostly don't use 464 because they know better.
  5. I just discovered that I live closer to Peaks than to the other suppliers of Glass Glow, but how can I be sure that Peaks' Glass Glow is not from the bad batch when I call to order it? What should I say? or what should I ask them?
  6. Thank you for confirming my suspicions that CS' decision was a smokescreen.
  7. @Debbie73: I think this is the right website, & the Glass Glow wax is at the very bottom of the Soy Wax page. Very confusing since it's not soy. I was looking for it earlier on Aztec & couldn't find it either. http://www.candlemaking.com/store/Soy-C42.aspx
  8. Thank you so much, Wessex, for working so hard to resolve this situation & for informing & updating us all! I really appreciate it! I'm totally new to candle making, & I was on the verge of ordering 50 lbs of Glass Glow wax before I found this thread. I shudder to think of what a nightmare that would have been for me as a newby. 0_0 But, your excellent thread saved me from certain bad-wax drama. Thanks again! I'll keep reading here so I can be sure & get good quality Glass Glow when it's available.
