  1. The easiest way to break up the slabs is to place them in a couple of heavy duty plastic bags and drop them on the cement a few times. Works like a charm.
  2. Thanks for everyone's response. I knew others had to have experienced the same problem. Yep, Monica it is a purple mold. How funny that you knew that. I will try to patch it with silicone and hold it together with a nylon and rubber bands until it dries. If that fails I'll try the tape.
  3. Those are beautiful Carol! Don't look mucked to me.
  4. Yep, they advertised that it could be turned inside out. I was going to try the rubberbands because I know that is how one of the silicone mold makers does theirs. I'm wondering if anyone has used a special type of glue or tape to seal it up?
  5. Is there a formula for figuring out a melt point if I mix two different waxes with different MPs?
  6. I have a grubby electric candle mold that I turned inside out to clean and it ripped down the side and part of the bottom. Is there a way to fix it so I can still pour candles? Grrrr, it was expensive and I've only poured a handful of candles with it.
  7. Have you looked at Michael's and Walmart. It is carried in the cake decorating section.
  8. It was the FO. I had Rose FO from Peak's do that to me.
  9. My Presto is w/o the spigot. I put a few layers of newspaper in my sink and pour the wax into the pot. I've never spilled anything but feel it's best to be safe. I do have a turkey fryer and am not crazy about it because I prefer to mix everything in the Presto first. I know it takes a little longer in clean-up but that's what I do.
  10. So glad to hear that things worked out.
  11. Hello. Yep, they've been around for awhile. If you are looking for more information on them you can do a search and will come up with a few thread about them.
  12. Check to see if you have a restaurant supply store close to you.
  13. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. As someone else posted, you must have a lot of patience.
  14. Everything is very nice. I love those containers. Mind sharing where you got them?
  15. I would just tell her that you will re-do the order and get the other candles back. You state that you purchased the business from someone else so previous customers are expecting the same candles/service as before. I just looked at the candles on your website (very nice site) and see that the jars look full. If you aren't going to fill them up like in the picture then I would change the pictures as people will feel like they are being deceived.
  16. I was just thinking about some posts I've recently read about customer service, good and bad. I got to thinking because there is one company that I mainly purchase my supplies from but when they make a mistake I always get a response of we will make a note of it in your account and next time you place an order, put a comment in the comment box and we will send it out. This kind of irks me because though I don't need it right away, I feel it is wrong because in the end I end up paying for the shipping on the item twice. I've dealt with other companies that will apologize and then send the replacement out right away at no cost. So, what are the things you look for in getting good customer service, or what are our pet peeves?
  17. Haven't tried it but my answer would be no. They melt in the oven or when it's too hot say, too in the car. What were you thinking of using them for?
  18. The only thing I can think of is a heating lamp. At least that's what I would do.
  19. Click where the font sizes are until it comes up blue. You can then enter a smaller number. HTH.
  20. Those are so pretty! Looks like something I want to eat.
  21. I would call Levine's to see what they have to say.
