  1. Thanks. I really appreciate all your help! Makes me feel better about my shavings. I took a look at your shop. The Passionate Kisses soap has heart swirls in it! That is incredible. Are your solid perfume tins actually pill cases? I'm looking for one that is like that rather than a hinged lid, those always break on me.
  2. For making tarts, you can use pretty much any silicone, the soft flexible kind or the stiffer kind. If you have any difficulty getting your tarts out, pop the mold in the freezer for 10 minutes. You can also use plastic but you need to know what the max temp you can pour the wax into the mold so that it doesn't warp.
  3. I bought a metal soap cutter miter box and the metal soap cutter blade thing. As I'm slicing my MP recipe from Prairie Annie, I'm getting a clean cut but lots of shaving on the top and the bottom. Is this typical? My only change to the recipe was substituting the jojoba with Olive oil in hopes of making it harder and not losing lather which I read jojoba can do. It's hard, maybe too hard? I'm brushing the shavings off but it is a mess. Nature of the beast? Oh, and I'm using the LCP, low sweat white base from Brambleberry.
  4. I can't find anything called pop or lab. Do I find it under the soap/salts tab?
  5. That's who I'm using now for my parasoy wax tarts. Do have a supplier you like? These are the only scents I order from SW and would like to consolidate my suppliers a bit.
  6. I've read about TBK Trading and their mica. I use liquid dye for my wax tarts so mica would be new to me. Not sure what to buy or how much to buy. About how much per lb of MP for medium intensity? Or does it depend on the color? The color of melted wax is very different than once the wax solidifies. Is it the same for MP melted vs solid?
  7. All I want to do is print color labels on matte white labels. No photos, speed not an issue, don't need for scanning or faxing, don't care it if is noisy. This one is wireless but don't really care about that feature. Looking for crisp font, no smudging, no jamming of label paper. That's it. Does this printer fit the bill? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Canon-PIXMA-MG5220-Wireless-All-in-One-Printer-with-Full-HD-Movie-Print-Mobile-Printing/15042568?ci_sku=15042568&ci_src=14110944&sourceid=1500000000000003142050
  8. These are inspirational! I didn't know MP could look like this.
  9. Thing is, I don't know the names of essential oils so I need a list and then read about each one. Thanks, though!
  10. I'll be anxious to read the answer. I thought only cold process soap could be swirled.
  11. I notice on almost all posts it is Saran Wrap that is suggested to eliminate sweating on MP soap. Is there a reason it has to be Saran Wrap rather than "any" plastic wrap? Curious.
  12. My arms are burning just watching that! It was way fun watching, thanks for sharing. The color looked WONDERFUL on camera!
  13. I have many of their molds for my scented wax tart business, I've only bought their multiple cavity molds. Excellent, very happy with them. Great communication, answered my questions and shipped promptly. I think it took less than a month to receive them from the time of my order to receiving. I have ordered from them three times.
  14. Oooeeeee! Buying oatmeal (out instant is flavored) and castor oil!
  15. Hi! I wanted to make the OMH the same night but I forgot to buy oatmeal. We use the instant in this house. I'm on a roll!!! I hope to be adding my recipes to that thread someday soon! I really want to learn how to "suspend" the oatmeal or lavender buds or whatever. I love the look of that in soap but think maybe that is only accomplished with CP? ,
  16. Thank you, thank you! Wish I could name you all. I feel like I'm making an Oscar speech:yay: , us I had several moments of complete panic but all turned out just fine. My soap is lathery and quite bubbly, too. Never made a bar of soap in my life. I'm all about scented wax tarts and that is it. I used Brambleberry LPC Low Sweat White M&P base and followed PrarieAnnie's recipe EXCEPT I eliminated the jojoba oil as I read on a thread jojoba could hinder bubbles or lather. I substituted the jojoba for olive oil as I read that olive oil would make the bar harder. I used canned goat milk instead of power, used regular store brand honey, nothing from a farm, used EVOO from the grocery store, used Dr. Bonner's Baby unscented formula liquid soap. All other ingredients I bought online. Wanted other newbies to know store bought is fine if you can find it! Here is my question. I would like it to be more moisturizing. I only used it to wash my hands but felt my skin was a little bit tight after my hands were dry. Should I add more shea butter? Maybe substitute the jojoba with shea instead of the olive oil? I will experiment but trying to save a bit of money by asking for opinions before I become a mad scientist.
  17. Oops. I'm over enthusiastic soap newbie. I think I'll stick to asking questions instead of answering questions
  18. Make it in a loaf and use a crinckel cutter soap cutting blade in a soap cutting box. I plan to use an inexpensive miter box which I picked up at Home Depot but I did order the cutting blade from Brambleberry. http://www.brambleberry.com/Crinkle-Cutter-P3792.aspx
  19. Thank you, again, very much.
  20. I see cupcake candles on sale on etsy and websites. Does this mean most candles with whipped topping will have this issue? Or is this a wick testing issue?
